was very keen, and was finally
won by Seines Snell, with Jayne
Mary Snell second, and Murray
Dale third. James Snell also won
the 750 -and -under class for steers
at Seaforth Friday with his club
calf.
In the Seaforth Swine Club
competition, ten members exhibit-
ed their sows at Seaforth Friday.
Frank Maloney, Seaforth, had
top pair of sows, followed by Doug
Keys, Seaforth, in second place.
John McGavin, Walton, was third.
Frank Maloney also won the spec-
ial for the best sow in the club,
with Doug Keys second and John

A fine of $50 with costs, and
30 days in jail, and in default,
another 30 days in custody, was
the sentence imposed on Orville
Rowland, Ethel, at Goderich
Thursday last, after he had plead-
ed guilty to a charge of dangerous
driving. An additional ten days
was imposed, to run consecutiv-
ely, on a drunk driving charge
to which he pleaded guilty; and
his driver's licence was ordered
suspended,
Clifford Rowlend, also of Ethel,
pleaded guilty to disorderly con-
duct in causing a disturbance on
a public highway. He was fined
$10 with costs, and his licence
ordered suspended.
• The Ethel pair were arrested
by Provincial Constable Frank
Taylor, Clinton, after a 12 -mile
chase on King's Highway 8, be-
tween Clinton and Goderich Sun-
day, September 5, when a car
driven by Orville Rowland was
