fortnight in Merrie Lodge, Lake-

to spend a vacation at Watford

Mr. and Mrs, H. Ahrens return-
ed to Detroit on Sunday after hav-
ing spent a fortnight at their
cottage "Trail Blazer"
Mrs. Wm. E. Parker, Billy and
Bobby left on Friday to spend a
week in Toronto where they will
attend the Exhibition.
Mrs. F, H. Paull, Listowel, is
spending this week at their cott-
age. Rev. F. H. Paull was also
here over Sunday night.
Miss Doris McEwen is spending
a vacation at home until she re-
sumes her studies at the Univer-
sity of Western Ontario.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baker and
four daughters,, Ronald Burt,
London, spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Baker.
Mrs. H. Weston and two child-
ren Ray and Susanne have re-
turned to Detroit after having
spent the Summer in the village.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shier,
Ripley, and C. Parsons, Kansas
City, visited at the home of Mrs.
W. ,T. Stinson one day last week.
Mrs. George Davison, Wood-
stock, and Mrs. M. Dalton, Toro-
nto, spent the weekend with the
former's sister, Mrs. Irene Bass-
ett.
Dr, and Mrs. A. Newton -Brady
Hamilton, were guests at The Al-
bion Hotel over the weekend
while renewing acquaintances in
the village.

and Mrs. Harold Poth and family
New Dundee, were the guests of
Mr. and. Mrs. LeRoy Poth on
Sunday.
We regret to report that Mrs.
Chas. Berry, who is still in ill
health, was taken to St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, on Sunday Mr.
Berry is spending this week in
London.

roit, returned to their respective
homes on Sunday after having

Richard, Toronto, left on Monday.

Mrs, Lloyd Scotchmer returned
on Wednesday after having spent
a few days in London where she
attended a trousseau tea given in
honor of her niece, Rliss Peggy
Burt, Reg. N. a bride -elect of
Saturday.
Donald Stephenson, Toronto,
spent a 'week with his parents
at their cottage in the village.
Mr. and Mrs. Stephenson, Marg-
aret, Donald and Barbara, all re-
turned to Toronto on Tuesday and
Miss Ada Bingley left for Detroit
after having spent the summer

Good spent Sunday visiting Mr.

turned home with them.
Mission Circle '
The Aimwell Mission Circle
will hold its September meeting
at the home of Mrs. Sidney Lan-
sing next Tuesday evening Sept-
ember 7th at 8 o'clock.
Returns From Hospital
Mrs. Elgin Josling returned
from the hospital on Sunday and
is convalescing at the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.
Mountain. Her many friends
wish her a continued speedy re-
covery,
Mission Band Meets
The Mission Band held its
meeting in the basement of the
church on Sunday, August 29,
The meeting opened, with the
president' Kenneth Wood in the
chair, with the call to worship
and singing hymn 427 and the
Lord's Prayer in unison. The
scripture was read by June Man-
ning. - The minutes of the last
meeting were read by secretary
Bill Cowan and the roll call was
answered by 16 present. The of-
fering was then taken by Bob
Saundercock. The temperance
reading was given by Gail Mann -
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Dunn and
Joyce, small daughter of Mr, and
Mrs. J. Orr.
Three Baptized
Rev. LaVerne Morgan, on Sat-
urday at seven o'clock, held the
service of Holy Baptism in Trin-
ity Church for the three children
of Mr, and Mrs. Keith Leonard
Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Featherston
were godparents for their grand-
children, John Ray and the twins,
Linda Clare and Sonja Gail.

The meeting closed with the Ben-

Goshen WMS Meets
Goshen WMS heldtheir annual
picnic for the Baby Band at
Turnbull's Grove on August 24.
The children enjoyed themselves
at the beach in the afternoon and
after a bountiful supper, with
over 50 persons present, some
races were run off.
