Summer Weddings
HESSELWOOD—EAST 'small reception was held at the
home of the groom's parents'
where the bride's mother received
in a Loganberry crepe frock with
black accessories, and the groom's
mother assisted wearing a white
flowered frock with black acces-
sories.
Later the young couple left on
a trip to points south, the bride
travelling in' a grey suit with
black accessories and a corsage
of pink carnations. On their re-
turn they will reside on the
groom's farm in Hullett Town-
ship,

At St. Peter's Lutheran Church
Zurich, on Monday, August 2,
1948, Rev. Heinrick united in
marriage Ella Bohn, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. G. Bohn, Blake, and
Harry Westbrook, son of Mr. and
Mrs. George W, Westbrook, God-
erich,
The bride wore a gown of rose
crepe with navy accessories and
corsage of gladioli and pink car-
nations. Miss Lerma Wilson,
Goderich Township, was brides-
maid wearing royal blue with
black accessories, and corsage of
peach gladioli and hosea.
John Westbrook, nephew of the
groom was best man.
After a wedding dinner at the
Dominion Hotel, Zurich, the cou-
ple left for a motor trip north.
They will reside in Goderich.'

Baskets of pink and white
sweetpeas, snapdragon and gyp -1
sophlia made a charming setting
on Thursday, July 29, at the home
of Mr. and Mrs, Clarence John-
ston, Blyth, for the marriage of ,
their only daughter, Iona Mary,
to Mr, Donald Roderick McLean,
son of Mr. and Mrs, Roderick
McLean, 7th concession, Morris
Township.
The ceremony was performed
at high noon with Rev. Arthur
Sinclair of Windsor, a former
minister of Blyth United Church,
officiating.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, wore a
gown of white nylon net, street -
length, and a coronet of orange
blossoms, which had been worn
by her mother at her wedding,
Rev. Wilbur J. Rogers officiat-
ed in Blyth United Church Par-
sonage on Saturday afternoon,
August 7, at a quiet wedding
which united in marriage Kath_
leen May East and Lloyd Keith
Hesselwood. All of Hullett, the
bride is the eldest daughter of
Mr. and Mrs, James East and the
groom is the youngest son of Mr,
and Mrs. John Hesselwood, Sr.
The bride was attractively
gowned in a floor -length lown
of white sheer marquisette with
a full skirt, ' Her elbow length
veil was caught with a bandeau
of white flowers. The bride's
bouquet was of red roses and
white carnations.
Attending the bride was Miss
Eileen' Hesselwood, sister of the
groom. Her floor -length gown
was of sky blue taffeta and she
carried a bouquet of white car-
nations and pink roses.
Alex Riley, Londesboro,' was
best man.

Mrs, Johnston chose a gown of
printed silk, while the bride-
groom's mother wore a printed'
jersey frock, Their corsages were
white Olivette carnations.
The wedding dinner Was serv-
ed at the home where the dining
room and table were decorated
with pink and white flowers and
pink candles. Those assisting in
the dining room were Miss Mary
Bradshaw, cousin of the bride,
and Miss Doris McLean, sister of
the bridegroom.
Following the reception, Mr.
and Mrs. McLean left for a honey-
moon at ,Niagara Falls and other
Southern Ontario points. The
bride wore a gray dress and gray,
topcoat with navy accessories.
On their return they will re-
side on the bridegroom's farm
on the 7th line of Morris Town-
ship.
Among the., guests was the
bride's grandmother, Mrs. John
Grasby, Blyth.
ADAMS—HARRISON
Rev. Richard Stewart officiat-
ed at a ceremony on Saturday,
July 24, at 12 o'clock noon, which
united in marriage Olive Edna
Harrison, youngest daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs, Thomas E,
Harrison, Bayfield, and William
i Clark Adams, son of Mrs. James
!Ferguson, Waterloo St. North,
' London, and the late William
Clark Adams, The vows were
exchanged at the manse of New
St. James Presbyterian Church,
London.
The lovely bride wore a gown
of ivory satin fashioned with in-
sets of lace, sweetheart neckline
and long pointed sleeves and full
skirt. Her veil of silk' embroid-
ered net fell from a headdress
of orange blossoms and she car-.
ried an all -white bouquet of roses,
gladioli tips and gypsophilia.
Miss Amy Aikenhead, the
bride's niece, was her only at-
tendant, wearing a floor -length
gown of pink silk jersey with
matching half hat and carrying a
colonial bouquet of pink carna-
tions and pink cornflowers.
Graham Bruce, brother-in-law
of the groom, was best man.
A reception was held at the
Iroquois Hotel, London, where
the bride's sister, Mrs. Jack Aik-
enhead, Brucefield,and the
groom's mother, received with
the 'Medal party. Mrs. Aikenhead
was weaning a figured silk jersey
dress with white accessories and
a corsage of pink gladioli and
rose buds. Mrs. Ferguson chose
a white silk jersey afternoon dress
with black accessories and a cor-
sage of gladioli and roses.
For their honeymoon to the
Lake Huron district, the bride
travelled in a rose linen dress
with white accessories, and blue
shortie coat and carried a corsage
of white roses, On their return,
Mr, and Mrs. Adams will reside
on Maitland Street, London.

Beautiful flowers and lighted
candles made an attractive set-
ting in St. Clair Ave. United
Church, Toronto, for the mar-
riage of Mary Alena, Reg.N.,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. D.
Munro, Auburn, and Robert Gor-
don Ling, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Ling, Toronto. Rev. A.

Joyce was at the organ,
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a street -
length dress of white Faille with
hat and veil to match. A shower
bouquet of Joanna Hill rose's and
sweet peas with spray of heather
sent from Scotland, formed the
bouquet.
The only attendant, her sister,
Miss Zeta Munro, wore a dusky
pink silk crepe dress with hat
and veil to match. She carried
a bouquet of roses and gladioli.
Walter Ling was groomsman
for his brother and 'W. Dawson,
usher.
A reception was held at the
home of Dr. and Mrs, J. G. Fergu-
son, Robina Ave., Toronto. The
bride's mother received in a gown
of soft blue romaine crepe with
corsage of roses and carnations.
The groom's mother wore grey
crepe with corsage of red roses.
Later, the happy couple left
amid a shower of good wishes e
for a honeymoon in Muskoka.
They will make their home in
Toronto.
