CLINTON TIGERS
DOWN SEAFORTH
IN THRILLER 9-8
After absorbing a 1744 defeat
at the hands of Clinton RCAF
Thursday evening last, Clinton
Tigers came back strongly to
trim the highly -rated Seaforth
Bosharts in a WOAA Senior "A"
fastball match by 9-8 in Clinton
Community Park Tuesday even-
ing.
It was a 'sweet win for Tigers,
who hadn't taken Seaforth pre-
viously last season or this, and
was a well-earned victory. Bos-
harts banged across five counters
M the first frame„ but Tigers
went into the lead with two in
the first and four in the second.;
The visitors regained a two -run
lead in the fourth but the locals(
tied it up in the fifth and went
on to win in the seventh.

LEAGUE LEADING
COLTS TOPPLE
. BASEMENT TEAM
While his mates banged the
opposing pitchers all over the lot,
Bob Draper twirled near -shutout
ball to defeat the tail -end Dash-
wood team 20-1 in a Huron -Perth
League match at' Dashwood Mon-
day evening.
The victory for Colts consoli-
dated their position in first place
Which they now hold alone, with
Hensall closely following. As each
of the leaders has only five games
yet to play—two of these being
against each other — the most
"crucaal" games of the entire
schedule are at hand. Colts play
at Hensall Thursday evening
next, August 12, and Hensall is
right back again in Clinton the
next night, Friday, August 13,
(Anyone superstitious?)
The team that finishes first re-
ceives a fine trophy for captur-
ing the league. championship.
Subsequently, the "B" winners—
either Goderich or St. Marys—
and the "C" winners—decided' by
a play-off among the four top
C teams—will proceed along the
Ontario championship trail.

*22, HURON -PERTH ALL-STARS
How do you rate at selecting all-star teams? Just take
the Huron -Perth Baseball League first and second teams
listed below and, see what you think of them. The .teams
ere the product of the unbiassed judgment of several base-
ball students who have seen all the teams in most of their
games this year. Of; course, batting power of theplayers
has been given due consideration, and they must have
"regulars" in the line-ups. No hard feelings ifv been
agree, with the "experts."

Playing their best game of the
year with only one error chalked
up against them, Clinton RCAF
trimmed Goderich Fliers in their
own backyard by 6-1 in a Huron -
Perth Baseball League scheduled
match Tuesday evening.
The Airmen gave Robertson
plenty of support and the big
boy was in great form. The home-
sters miscued mightily on sever-
al occasions.
If RCAF can win their remain-
ing games—or nearly all them—
they still can qualify for a play-
off berth among the elite four
"C" teams. It looks as if three
of them will be Clinton Colts,
Hensall, and Lucan Irish Nine.
Laakso and Hurtick were top
batters each with a double and a
single in four trips.
