the weekend at Tobermory.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Taylpr and
Arnold, Mr. and Mrs. Norman
Baird, and Morris Taylor, visited
at St. Catharines, Niagara Falls
and Buffalo, for a few days.

The June meeting of Stanley
Community Club was held at,the
home of Mrs. Johh McCowan with
the president, Mrs. Roy Can.telon,
in charge. There were 19 memb-
ers, four visitors and six children
present. The meeting opened with
the Lord's Prayer, and the Sec-
retary and Treasurers reports
were given.
Plans were made to hbld` a
picnic in, Harbour Park, Goderich
on Friday, July 2, in place of the
July meeting. The money from
the travelling apron was brought
in and counted, The receipts a-
momunted to over $25 and the
apron went to Mrs, Fenwick Ste-
wart. The Treasurers was instruct-
ed to donate $50 to Clinton Public
Grace United Church on Sunday Hospital, A good assortment of
parcels was brought in for the

at the funeral of Frederick Gibbs,
held at Bali Brothers Funeral
Home, High St., Clinton, on Fri-
day, June 4, 1948. Interment
followed in Ball's Cemetery. Pall-
bearers were George. McVittle,
Thomas Millar, William Dale,
James Neilans, Robert Young-
blutt and William Govier. Fol-
lowing the committal service of
the ehurch at the graveside, Hul-
lett Lodge A.F. and A.M. No. 568
held thelast rites of the order.
Mr. Gibbs was born, in Cam-
bridge, England, on October 20,
1864, a son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Gibbs, and came to
, Canada at an early age. He spent
the remainder of his life around
Londesboro except for a few
years which he spent in the Can-
• adian West. His death occurred
in Clinton Public Hospital an
Wednesday, June 2, following a
short illness.
In religion Mr. Gibbs was a
member of the United Church,
having membership in Londesboro
United Church. He was a mem-
ber , of Hullett Lodge A.F. and
A.M. No. 568 and also Hullett
LOL No. 863,
Mr. Gibbs was never married.
This was the first time since the
war that the family have had the
pleasure of all being together.

Barbering Industry
GODERICH, CLINTON and
SEAFORTH ZONE
WHEREAS the Minister of La-
bour has designated the towns of
Goderich, Clinton and Seaforth, in
the Province of Ontario, as a zone
for the BARBERING INDUSTRY,
which he has defined as all work
done by barbers in,—(a) shaving
or trimming p. beard or moustache;
(b) cutting, trimming, singeing,
shampooing or dressing hair, (c)
giving, - (I) facial massage; or
(II) scalp treatment; and (d) hon-
ing or stropping a razor, except
where performed in barber schools
licensed by The Industry'and La-
bour Board under The Apprentice-
ship Act, and has received a petit-
ion requesting a conference of
the employers and employees in c
the said industry and has author-
ized
the convening of such con-
ference.

Funeral services were held at
the Beattie Funeral Home, Rat-
tenbury St. E., on Thursday, June
3, 1948, for Albert Morrell with
Rev. 5, H. Brenton officiating,
Interment took place in Clinton
win Carter, Charles. Weymouth,
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Der -
William Hoggarth, Ed. Farquhar,
Victor Kennedy and Albert Rad-
ford, .
Mr, Morel' was born in Egre-
moat Township in 1866, and came
to Hullett Township when quite
young, where the remainder of
his life was spent. He was ident-
ified with Londesboro United
Church.
Mr.'1Vlorreil's death occurred
the home of his son, Hero idM-r
the home of his son, Harold Mor-
rell, Hullett Township, with who
he made his home, on Tuesday,
June 1.

GEORGE IRWIN
George Irwin died at the home
of his son-in-law. and daughter.
IVIr, and Mrs. Donald Fowler, Au-
burn, Monday, June 7, in his 88t1)
year, after an illness of ten days.
He was a soli of the late William
Irwin and the' former Elizabeth
Greer and was born at Angus,
January 13, 1861. When young,
he came with his parents to the
10th concession of Ashfield,
where they farmed for twelve
years, then moving to a farm on
the Lucknow-Dungannon road.
In 1890 he married Mary Pent-
land, of Dungannon. They farm-
ed on the farm now owned by
James Henry, In 1905 they mov-
ed to a farm at Glen's Hill two
miles north of Dungannon and in
1920 they retired to Dungannon,
where Mrs. Irwin died in 1943.
He was a member of Dungannon
United Church.
Surviving are one daughter,
Mrs. Donald Fowler, Auburn; one
granddaughter, Mrs. Roy Finni-
gan, Auburn; three brothers,
Thomas and Henry, Port Elgin;
nd Hamilton, Vancouver; and
ne sister, Mrs, Elizabeth Miller,
alifornia.
The funeral was held from the

considering the conditions of la-
bour and the practices prevailing
in the said industry and for ne-
gotiating and submitting to the
Minister of Labour a schedule
pursuant to the provisions .of the
said Act:

that such schedule may contain
provisions fixing the prices which
may be charged for each opera-
tion performed by employers and
employees in the Barbering In-
dustry and subject to the approval
of The Industry and Labour Board
and the Minister of Labour, the
Lieutenant -Governor in Council
may declare that such schedule
shall be binding upon all employ-
ers and employees in such in-
dustry which includes all, persons
in any way engaged or employed
in the work or operations includ-
ed in such industry:

as the period for this free X-ray Clinic
and earnestly request that every citizen
• respond most ' wholeheartedly to this
campaign, first by having an X-ray and
then by supporting the project among
their friends and acquaintances by word
of mouth. By so doing, you will not
