Evening Auxiliary
Holds March Meeting
The March meeting of the
Evening Auxiliary of Wesley-
Willis Church took the form of a
pot luck supper, in the Church
Hall, Tuesday, March 25, follow-
ed bya short meeting, opening
with a hymn. The Scripture les-
son was was taken by Mrs. Benson
Sutter, after which Miss Margaret
Davis led in prayer. There were
nineteen members present.
The April meetingwill be held.
jointly with the Senior W.M,S.
the second week in April. The
Auxiliary plans to cater for the
London Conference Y.P.U. execu-
tive on April 17-18.
Mrs. D. Ward and Miss Reta
Cudmore sang a duett entitled
"Alone," A reading entitled "The
Boyhood of Jesus," was given by
Mrs. Reg. Shipley. A hymn and
prayer by the president closed
the meeting, •

Don M. Venton, consulting en-
gineer, Toronto, visited Clinton
this week in connection with the
completion of the new sewerage
disposal plant which is just about
ready to operate.
Miss Barbara. Thompson, who
has been employed with the Unit-
ed Kingdom Embassy in Wash-
ington, D.C., for the past few
years, is with her grandmother,
Mrs. Martha Peckitt.
Mrs. W. E. Perdue has been
called to Bay City, Mich., by the
illness and subsequent death of
her mother, the late Mrs Caroline
Summers. Mr. Perdue left yest-
erday to attend the funeral, which
was held this afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. E. Peard, London,
who recently arrived by air from
Oxford, England, spent the week-
end with Mr and Itlrs. Harry
Thompson. Mrs. Peard, the for-
mer Patsy McKegney. will be re-
membered by many in Clinton.
Mr. Peard, a former RAF. radio
engineer, intends to carry on his
work here in Canada.
Miss . Eleanor Plumsteel, ac-
companied' by Mrs. Bert Tibbett,
both teachers at Iroquois Falls,
spent the Easter weekend in New
York and ,then' 'Miss Plumsteel
spent theremainder of the holi-
day period with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. W. J. Plumsteel. Rev.
and Mrs. Harold J. Snell and two
sons, Gordon and Peter, spent
Friday last at the parental home.

WESLEY-WILLIS MEETING
The Spring Thankoffering meet-
ing of the WMS and Evening
Auxiliary of Wesley -Willis Unit-
ed Church will be held on Thurs-
day, April 15, at 8 p.m. in the
School Room of the Church. Miss
Edith Brown, a returned mission-
ary from Africa will give an il-
lustrated address. A social half
hour will follow the meeting. All
ladies of the congregation are
cordially invited to attend.
W. -W. GIRLS' CLUB '
Wesley -Willis Girls' Club will
meet on Tuesday evening, April
13, in the Church Parlour with
Mrs. Will McEwen's group in
charge and Miss M. A. Stone the
chief speaker.

ian Church met in .the Sunday
School Room on Tuesday, April
6, with a good attendance, The
president, Mrs. Twitchell, was in
the chair, with Mrs. ' Snider at
the piano,
Mrs. Twitchell read the Scrip-
ture lesson and led in prayer. Mrs.
Maxwell read the secretary's and
treasurer's reports. The roll ea/1
was' answered with a parcel
Witmer . for the bazaar and this
will be repeated at the next
meeting.
The collection was taken and
after singing n hymn and prayer
being offered, Mrs. Robert Mc-
Ewen and Mrs. Cook served a
delicious cup of tea and a social
half hour was enjoyed.

The WMS of Ontario St. United
Church will meet on Tuesday af-
ternoon, April 13, ' at 3 o'clock.

brought a very pleasant evening
to a close.
D.D.G.M. Clark Fisher, 'Exeter,
will pay his official visit to Clin-
ton Lodge, No, 33, on Tuesday,
April 13. All Members are urged
