M Evenuo owing to his continued poor health. Tho Board further announces the election of E. G. Baker to the presidency. E. G. Baker is -widely known in bus. iness circles in Canada and the United States. Ire has been a policyholders' director on the Canada Life Board since 1934 and a Vice -President for the past ;seven years. President of the Moore Corporation for many years, he is now Chairman of its Board of Directors. Mr. Faker is also a director of the Bank of Canada land the Canadian Pacific Rail- way. He is prominent in ehureh work' and in many welfare organizations. Mr. hicEvenue has had a long and out- standing career in the life insurance bus- inoss, over twenty years of which he has spent with .the Canada Life. Joining that Company as western supervisor in 1027, he received soveral promotions prior to his appointment no General Manager in 1938.
