COUNTY HOME
COST $250,000
60 -BED ADDITION
Huron County Council yester-
day afternoon moved that the
County Home committee con-
tinue its work relative to a pro-
posed addition to Huron County
Home, south of Clinton.
Council also endorsed a re-
commendation to the 1952 coun-
cil that $50,000 be leived for this
purpose for at least three years.
The action was taken after L.
G. Bridgman, London architect,
presented plans for a $250,000
proposed 60 -bed addition to
Huron County Home, including
repairs to the present building.
The province pays 50 per cent of
the cost.
Council approved the recom-
mendation that prospective in-
mates b Xe -rayed before adinis-
sion; and that the rate for pay-
ing inmates and old age pension-
ers be standardized at $35 e
month,

system of rebates of gasoline tax
to farmers who use gasoline in
their farm tractors. Many farm-
ers find it a hardship, he said,
to have to pay the full tax -,ie

wait several months for the re-
bate of 11 cents a gallon. If a

he said, arrangements will be
made to let farmers pay the tax-
free price originally.
