Field Meet Friday last, proved
a great success, with a Dumber
of school records broken.
An unfortunate accident took
place when Barbara Ford, com-
peting in the high jump, tell
and fractured her ankle. How-
ever, she was able to return to
classes thisweek, using aids.

Township team bowed out of the
Ontario Baseball -Association Pee-
wee race before the determined
attack of a stronger and more
experienced Petrolia ,tea
champions of the Western Coun-
ties Association,
Clayton. Laithwalite's young-
sters last the first game at Pet-
rolia. 13-1, seeming no hits, and
dropped the return match art
Goderioh last week 12-1.
However the Township kids
still are in the running for the
WOAA. "B" title. They play at
New Hamburg Saturday after-
noon with the . return match at
Clinton Wednesday afternoon
next, October 4, if the 'local. dia-
mond is available, according to
Edward M. MacLeod, assistant
manager.
In the game at Goderich,Laith-
waite tallied the. only run for
Goderich Township in the sixth,.
when he smacked out one of its
two safe hits, and tallied on a
passed •ball. Has -mon Was the
