Frkendship Club Meets
The Friendship , Club of St.
Paul's Anglican Church held its
first meeting of the fall season
in the Parish Hall, Wednesday,
September 19.
A very interesting discussion
followed as to ways and means
to make our meetings of greater
interest to our members.
Our aim for 1951-52, a large
increase in membership.
The next meeting will be held
in the Parish Ball, October 3.
Come and bring a new member.
St. Paul's WA Hears
Of Indian Mission
The WA of St. Paul's Church
met on the afternoon Of Septem-
ber 18, as 'guests of Mrs. Wi liam
Jackson inheron
cs cheeryhome
King Street.
There was a large attendance
of -members end visitors, many
of Whom had been connected with
the hostess , through long years.
of church activities.
The president, assisted, by Mes-
dames Bulteel and L. M. McKin-
non, conducted the opening ser-
vice,
A number of matters of routine
business were discussed, after
which Mrs. F, Ford took charge
of the 'study period.
Accounts of the progress of In-
dian mission stations in Ontario,
and of work in Northern Canada,
made instructive hearing, In her
far -away Arctic post, Miss Doro-
thy Robinson is carrying on as
teacher, missionary, and health
supervisor. In the medical work
a 'great contact with the people
is accomplished,
The Yellowknife WA is respon-
sible for a 30 -minute broadcast
over station OFYK. As far as
we know, this is the only WA in
the world conducting a regular
radio broadcast.
From the pen of Mary Peters
comes a. delightful message bas-
ed on two texts from Songs of
Solomon, "The time of the sing-
ing of birds has come" and "The
flowers appear on earth." The
birds of summer sing a ceaseless
chatter, but if you draw apart
and listen intently you can flit a
phrase of praise to their song,
"Praise the. Lord, come pray,
come pray."
St. Francis found it easier to
give of the beauty of the frag-
rance of flowers as he lived out
the 'love of God in his life• A
spiritual nosegay can be gathered
daily from the garden of our
inner lives of devotion provided
we recognize the difference be-
tween flowers and weeds, and
choose the flowers. "Blow upon
my garden that the spices there-
of may flow out."
Mrs. Bulteel emceed the meet-
ing with prayer.
The members then partook of
refreshments provided by Mrs.
Jackson and her -niece, Mrs. M.
McKinnon. Miss Bessie Sloman,
for the members, thanked the
ladies for their hospitality.
