unison. Mrs. Martin than took
devotional period, taking as her
subject the parable of the Good
Samaritan,
Vastbrus reports were given and
business discussed and it was de-
cided to have a turkey dinner
at anniversary time about first
weal: in October.
Callers were named for var-
ious "wards, and the conveners
for the October meeting.
Mrs. W. B. Ode asked ladies
for articles of clothing, furniture,
books, etc., for the hospital ba-
zaar,
Mrs. Treleaven then favoured
the ladies with an instrumental
and Mrs. E. Radford also gave
en instrumental which was much
enjoyed.
A lovely lunch was served by
ladies of Base Line and 16th con-
cession, Goderioh Township,

our of her daughter, Miss Kath-
ryn Falconer on Wednesday,
August 29.
In the afternoon, Mrs, Clifford
Keys, Varna, mother of the
groom, end Mrs. Frank Rath -
burn, Sombre, aunt of the bride,
poured tea. In the evening Mrs.
T. J. Lindsay, Sombre, and Mrs.
W. J. Falconer, Brucefield, grand
mothers of te bride, presided
at the tea table, Miss Elizabeth
Falconer, sister of the bride, serv-
ed the guests. Mrs. Harry Tor -
same, Bayfield, sister of the
bride, end Mrs. Arnold Keys,
Varna, displayed the trousseau
and gifts.
Mrs. Harry Torrance held a
miscellaneous shower on Mon-
day evening, August 27, in hon-
our of her sister, Miss Kathryn

noon, on Saturday, September 1,
for the wedding of Kathryn Mary
Falconer, second daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. George L. Falconer,
Brucefield, to James Thompson
Keys, con of Mr. and Mrs. Clif-
ford H. Keys, Varna. Rev. H.
C. Wilson performed the wedding
ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage
by her lather, was lovely in a
floor -length gown of white slip-
per satin with nylon French lace
yoke trimmed with seed pearls,
lily -pointed sleeves and lace
trimmed peplum. Her veil of
French illusion was held in place
by a tiara of bugle beads and
seed pearls, and extended into
a short train. She wore the
groom's gift, a snatching rhine-
stone set, and carried a cascade
bouquet of Red Happiness roses.
Miss Mary Morrill, London, the
maid of honour, wore a floor -
length gown of nile green bro-
caded taffeta with net over -skirt
and matching net headdress. She
carried a Colonial bouquet of
yellow Gloria roses.
The bridesmaid, Miss Bernice
Blake, Clinton, wore a floor -
length gown of orchid embroid-
ered nylon over taffeta and
snatching net headdress and car-
ried a Colonial bouquet of yellow
Gloria roses, The flower girls,
Miss Barbara Falconer, Seaforth,
cousin of the bride, and Miss
Bonnie Allen, Goderich, niece of
the groom, wore floor -length
dresses of yellow taffeta. and car-
ried old-fashioned nosegays of
Talisman roses and white Porn -
Porn 'maims, and wore headbands
of bronze and white mums.
The groomsman was Clayton
Keys, Varna, and the ushers were
John Dawson and Charlie Reid,
Varna,
Mrs. J. W. Treleaven played
the wedding music and the solo-
ist was Miss Kathleen McGill,
who sang "The Lord's Prayer"
at the opening of the ceremony
and "I Love You Truly" during
the signing of the register.
The wedding reception was
held in the Commercial Hotel,
where the bride and groom re-
ceived the 50 guests, assisted by
the bride's mother, wearing
violet brocaded crepe with em-
erald green accessories and a cor-
sage of yellow Gloria roses. The
groom's mother also assisted,
wearing plum crepe and lace with
black accessories and a corsage of
yellow Gloria roses.
The bride's table was lovely
with the three -tiered wedding
cake, pink tapers and sweet peas.
The toast to' the bride was
proposed, by her grandfather, Mr.
W. J. Falconer, and responded to
by the groom.'•
The guests were served by
four friends of the 'bride, Miss
Thelma Glazier, Clinton, Miss
Gladys Pepper, 'Clinton, Mips
Verna Eyre, • Brucefield, and
'Miss EIva Love, Varna.
Guests were present from
Sombre, Fergus, Goderich, Sea -

ned a suit of dawn blue gabar-
