MacLeod. Mr. and Mrs, W. J. Hall left on Saturday for their home in Toledo, Ohio. Mrs. Perry C. Hill, Birming- ham, Mich., is the guest of Mrs. W. M. Purves. Mr. and Mrs. H. Edwards, Jr.,. London, were at the New Ritz over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. W. Haggett, Eliza- beth and Tom, Paris, spent a vacation in the village. Mrs. Gordon Bell, Toronto, is the guest of Miss M. Hodgins, "Stonehaven," this week. Dr. R. G. Hunter, Toronto, spent the weekend with his fam- ily at their summer home. Mrs. R .Wilson and children, Guelph, are spending two weeks Mr. and Mrs. George Fellows and family, Windsor, were at their cottage over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. J. Andrews and three children, Buffalo, are oc- cupying the Churchmvard cottage. Mrs.. L. Raby and Mrs. G. Tin- an, inan, Detroit, left Monday for their home after spending the summer here. Mr. and Mrs. F. Myers and three children, Byron, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. S. Bryant. Mr. and Mrs. James P. Ferg- uson have returned to London after having spent three weeks at their cottage. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Grierson, Charles and Anne, Waterloo, were the guests of Mrs. F. A. Edwards on Sunday. Mrs. G. Chuschward returned to her home in London on Sat- urday after having been at ,her cottage for a fortnight. Keith Leonard, Montreal, and E. A. Galbraith, Windsor, spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs: Gordon Galbraith, Blue Water Highway, Goderich Township: Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rankin and four children, Goshen, Indiana, have been spending. a vacation with the former's aunt, Miss C. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clark, Cleveland, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. "Lloyd Scotch- mer. Their daughter, Roberta, who has been visiting here, ac- companied them home. Mr. and . Mrs. J. A. Orr and Arthur Burt, Stratford,, spent the weekend with the former's par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Orr. Miss Peg Orr and Senorita Nair Lima attended the Toronto, Ex- hibition last week. Mrs. W. J. and Bal0.agh Marcia motored tothe village with Mrs. Arthur Morley, Rochester, Mich., on Wednesday of last week. Mrs. Morley accompanied her sister- in-law Miss L. Morley, to Detroit on Wednesday after having been her guest for a week at "Briar- cliff." Mrs. H. J. E. Webb ancl-Masfer George, left Sunday for Lily Bay, Manitoba, to visit .her parents, owing to her mother's ill health. Mrs. Webb was agcompanied as far as Toronto by her niece and nephew, Miss Lillian and Master Billy Gemmill, who . have been with her for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Galbraith motored to Montreal on. Friday to meet the former's , cousin, Charles Biggs, Harrow, England, who will be their guest. They spent a few days with Mr. Gal- braith's brother, A. 'Campbell Galbraith, Montreal, and" took in the Toronto Exhibition on their return trip. 0 Alberta's oil reserves are esti- mated officially at 1,250,000,000 barrels. Some experts think there may be ten times that much;oil yet to be discovered in the ,pro- vince. SUMMERHILL Ladies' Club Meet; The August meeting of Sum- merhill Ladies' Club was held at the home. of -Mrs. E. Ellis with 23 members and five visitors present. The roll Call was an- swered by articles for the bazaar. Thank you's were received from the Hunter family, Mrs, R Townsend and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Vodden ,and Mrs. W. Crich. .- The program consisted of a reading by Mrs. Chester. Far- quhar; a piano solo by Mrs. Keith Tyndall; and a contest by Mrs, Neville Forbes,' won by Mrs. Keith Tyndall. The next meeting will he held at the home 'of Mrs. Clarence Ball. The program committee will consist of Mrs. Earl Blake, Mrs. Percy Gibbings, Mrs. Rus- sell Good, and Mrs. A. Hayward. Heard attended the funeral of the late Gilbert Vint, Belfast, on Friday. They have just ie - turned from a vacation spent at Callender, where Mr. Miner preached for the past month. Pleasant Family Reunion Mr. and Mrs!. James Cooper and their daughter„Ann, Van- couver, B.C., arrived by motor last Thursday to visit at the home of James V. Corran. Mr. Cooper is a brother of Mrs. Corran and Miss L. N. Cooper, and these three members of the family had not been together for 22 years.
