Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Rice, Cale-

Rice is a former manager of the

Mrs. George Wilkins and son
Robert, have returned to London
after a vacation at Auburn, God-
erich and Hunter's Beach, ac-
companied by her brother, Allen
Craig.

Home run queens will perform
before thousands of visitors at
the 1951 Canadian National Ex-
hibition, which- runs from August
24 to September 8 this year. The
occasion is the Canadian Wom-
en's Fastball Championships,
which are just a small part of the
vast sports programme et the
world's largest annual exhibition.
Residing in London
St, .Janes' Anglican Church, Middleton, was the scene of
the' wedding of MR. AND MINS. SAMUEL GEORGE ARGYLE,
Goderich. The bride is the former Margaret Thelma Cole,
daughter of 1\/It: and Mrs. Oliver Cole, R.R. 3, Clinton, and her
husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel' Argyle, Goderich.

the most targets over the week-
end to take hothe top honors in
the, gun shoot held at Kippen
Gun Club which drew sharp-
shooters from St. Thomas, Lon-
don, St. Marys, Goderich and
Centralia. Others placing in the
inson. shoot were: John Anderson, of
Sails on limos "Magnificent"

Goshen WMS Meets
The August meeting of Goshen
WMS was held at the home of
Mrs. John Armstrong. "Working
Together" being the theme. Hymn
348 was sung and scripture tak-
en by Mrs. John Keys. The pro-
gram followed that, as in the
Missionary Monthly. The story,
"The Palace made by Music" by
Mrs. Murray Rohner, and the
prayer by Mrs. Elmer Hayter.
The minutes were read by Mrs,
Elgin McKinley and the roll
called. The treasurer also re-
ported, The offering was taken
after which a duet was sung by
Mrs. Roy McBride and daughter,
Phyllis. Mrs. Bab Peck read
"The President's Address" taken
from the Missionary Monthly.
The meeting closed with hymn

Ebenezer WA Meets
Ebenezer WA met recently
at the home of Mrs. M. G. New-
ton, Holmesville. Mrs. F. Jones
conducted the meeting which was
opened by singing—the theme
song, after which the Creed was
repeated in unison. The hymn
"Jesus Saviour Plat (Mel' was
sung, and the Scripture and pray-
er were given by Mrs. M. Jones.
The roll call was answered by
eleven members and two visit-
ors. The minutes of the previous
meeting were read and the treas-
u'rer's report was given.
During the business discussion,
it was decided that the annual
ice cream social be held in the
school and that the thankoffering
money be handed in at the Oc-
tober meeting. Lois Jones gave
a report of her week et YP Sum-
mer School at Goderich United
Church Camp.
Mrs. Jim Lobb rendered two
Plane solos, which were much
enjoyed, and Mrs, Ira Merrill gave
a reading. The chapter in the
study book was given by Mrs.
Frank Jones, and the meeting
was closed with a hymn and the
Mizpah benediction.
The hostess served refresh-
ments. The next Meeting will
be held at the home of Mrs. S.
Farquhar.
