The ladies are sisters of Mrs... Ringrose. RMC CAPTURES FLIGHT CADET TRACK MEET (By F. T. Thorndike) The Sports Field at RCAF Station, Clinton, was a blaze of colour and activity on Friday as Cadets from all parts of Train- ing Command assembledto com,- pete inthe annual track and field championships and to take. home the A/V/M Middleton trophy, symbolic of Flight Cadet track supremacy. The powerful team from Royal Military College, Kingston, prov- ed to be tops and amassed the. grand total of 60 points to win easily. ' Station Clinton were runner-ups with 36 points. Preparations for the meet were under the direction of F'/L W. J. Hynds and the track meet was directed by F./C Neil McGregor, Assistant Sports Officer, Station Clinton. • The big day commenced with a march past of participating cadets, being reviewed by W/C R. P. Miller, Commanding Offic- er of Station Clinton, who ad- dressed the assembled body and welcomed the visitors to the Station. A bit of the college touch was added by the 'Clinton "cheer- leaders" and the Centralia "band." Results of the events were: 100 yd. dash-Yeigh, Aylmer; Ramsay, RMC; Dandle, Clinton. Time: 11 sec. 440 yd. dash-'•Brummett, RMC; Hurley, Clinton; Collier, Aylmer. Time: 57.1 sec. Shot Put—Reid, Clinton; Ro- billiard, RMC; Perlmutter, TOME. Distance: 35 ft 4t/2 ins. Distance: 147 ft. 220 Yard Dash Burleigh, Senior NCO's Smile As Promotions Made On , the first of this month eleven senior NCO's from RCAF' Station, Clinton, took on a high- er rank. In selecting these men the promotion board had to study. m'i list of men worthy, of the higher position and selected eleven capable and experienced men - Two New WO1's Two WO2's were promoted to the highest NCO rank, ' WOl. They were WO1 F. McKellar and WO1 T. Foster. WO McKellar who comes from just outside Calgary, Alberta, joined the air force in 1941 as a Radio Mechanic after receiving University training at Toronto. he came to Clinton tor Radar training in '42. Later that year he went overseas and served in various theatres. He took his discharge in '45 and rejoined in '47. He came to Clinton that year and is a resident of Adastral Park. Mr. McKellar is Warrant Officer in charge of the examina- tion board here. WO Foster, from the Syllabus board is anotherwesterner hail- ing from Winnipeg. He joined the RCAF in March of '41 and went overseas - in May of that year. He came back in 1944 and took his discharge in October of '45. October of the following years he rejoined the air force as a Flight Sergeant. Mr. Foster came to Clinton: from Rivers, Manitoba, in '48, and now lives in Admiral Park. Prom the Communications sec- tion, G. B. Kennedy who comes from Canada's capital city, step- ped up the ladder to W02. Mr. Kennedy started his ex- tensive Air Pomo career in 1938 at , Trenton. He went overseas in '40 and served with the 410 Squadron in England. He came to Clinton in '47 from the west coast and in '49 went to Newfoundland to help link the new province to Ottawa by Radio. Telegraph. ' He returned to Clinton ' the latter part of '49 and is now the Warrant Officer in charge 'of the Communication's section. From the Radar section War- rant Officer IL A. Round, To- ronto, received his promotion. Mr. Round has been a Radar specialist since 1941 when he re- ceived training at McGill Uni- versity, Montreal: Later he went overseas and served in the Unit- ed Kingdom. He took a discharge in Sept- ember of '45 and re-enlisted in July of '46. In the latter part of that year he came to Clinton and now resides in AdestraI Park. Also from the Radar section those who received promotions were WO1 C. A. Mason and F/S K. D. McLean. Mr. Mason is from St. And- rew',s N.B„ and came to Clinton in October of 1948. He now lives in the station married quarters. Flight Sergeant MacLean came to Clinton in July of 1949 and now Iives in Atlastral Park. He is originally from Edmonton, Alberta. From the Airmen's Mess War- rant Officer L. R. Charbonneau received his promotion while on leave. He comes from Alfred, Ont., and came to Clinton in October of '48. Warrant Officer 3. S. Ogsten, Winnipeg, promoted from the ranks of F/'Sgt. is an instructor in ARDS, Joining the Army in 1940 and transferring to the RCAF in 1941 WO Ogsten served overseas in various theatres of operations including India. The Sergeants who received their Plight crowns were H. A. Ringrose, J. A. Austin and W. J. Gray. Flight Sergeant Ringrose from the Communications section hails from Winnipeg. He enlisted in 1941 and took his discharge in '44. He re-enlisted in '46 end carne to Clinton in .'49 from Trenton. Plight Sergeant Austin who comes from Edmonton, Alba., en- listed in '41 and went overseas at that time. He recently arrived at Clinton as a Communications instructor from Edmonton. On leave at this time is Flight Sergeant Cray who comes from Ottawa. He is in charge of the draugh'ting centre and came to this station in July of '49. F/S Cray is also a resident of Adast- ral Park.
