Mr. and 'Mrs. Jack Jowett,
Clinton, Iowa, who are on their
honeymoon, spent a few days this
week in the village at the home
of the former's great aunt, Mrs.
C. W. Brown.
Dr. John Lindsay returned to
London ,on Wednesday after hav-
ing been at his cottage south of
the village over the weekend. He
was • accompanied by Mr. and
Mrs. Bert Davis.
Rev. A. C. French, Youngstown,
N.Y., was the guest of Rev. and
Mrs. H. J. E. Webb from Mon-
day until' Wednesday. Mr. Webb
and Mr. French were classmates
at Wycliffe College.
Mrs. William R. Jowett who
spent a fortnight with her dau-
ghter, Mrs. E. Kendall, and Le-
Roy Poth, who was in Kitoheney'
for a few days last week return
ed home on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Church -
ward, Jr., small daughter, Mar-
ilyn, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kinsley,
Danny, Jackie and Patsy, Lon -
den, are spending a fortnight at
the Churchward cottage.
Mrs. Gertrude Woodman, St.
Marys, visited her sister, Mrs.
Reg. Francis, last week. Mr. and
Mrs. Wilfred Mitchell, London,
were also the guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Francis over the weekend.
We regret the omission of Ruth
Ann Scotchmer's name from the
list of promotions in the Junior
Room of Bayfield Public School
in last week's issue. Ruth Ann
was promoted from grade 3 to 4.
Mr. and Mrs. George Cantrick,
Birmingham, Mich., spent the
weekend with the latter's aunt,
Miss L. Morley. Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Morley who were her guests
last week also returned to Birm-
ingham.
Mrs. Richard O'Connell and
small step -daughter, Regan, New
York, are- at her home "Fair
Acres," for the summer.
Miss Inez Covert and Miss An-
ne Loucks, Detroit, came on Fri-
day to spend a week with Miss
C. P. Rankin, "Calenboig,"
Mrs. James A. Brown, Detroit,
is spending this week at The
Little Inn. Mr. Brown also was
here over the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Grierson'
Charles and Ann, Waterloo, vis-
ited Mrs. Grierson's aunt, Mrs. F.
A. Edwards, over the weekend.
Dr. E. Cooper and family, De-
troit, are. occupying their cot-
tage which they purchased earlier
in the year from Mr. and Mrs. A.
L. Ttout.
Mrs. William MacDonald and
Mrs. N. J. Barrett, Detroit, are
visiting their brother and sister-
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Percy

Mrs. W. M. Purves, Birming-
ham, Mich., is at her cottage for
the season. Mrs. Rose, Birming-

A special meeting of Trinity
Church Guild was held at the
home of Mrs. William E. Parker
on Tuesday of last week to make
plans for the lunch counter in
Edwards store on July 12. Rev.
H. J. E. Webb opened the meet-
ing over. which Mrs. R. J. Larson
presided Mrs. W. E Parker was
appointed convener. Following the
Benediction refreshments were
served by the hostess.

United Church Ladies' Meet
The women of the United
Church met at the 'home of Mrs.
Gordon Scotohmer, Bronson Line,
on Thursday last. There was a
fine attendance and the house
was beautifully decorated with a
profusion of summer flowers.
Mrs.' Renner, president of the
WMS, read an article on the hymn
"Jesus Shall Reign" and pointed
out the., similarity between the
Mrs. E. A. Suppnicic returned
to Detroit on Wednesday after
having spent a few days et her
cottage, `Holley Lodge." Miss
Holley Louise ,Suppnick who was
with her mothre over the week-
end, leaves this month to spend
three months touring Europe.
Miss Dorothy Reinke, Hamilton,
is spending the summer at The
New Ritz Hotel. Other guests
