FRIGIDAIRE
Price Complete: $345.75
When tea May 1, 1951, Cost -of -Living Index figures were
published, it was found that had our prices increased in the
same proportion as other commodities, we would be faced
with the following picture. We have used a 6 -cubic foot
model for comparative purposes.
Based on May 1, 1951
figures a 6 cu. ft.
Commodity cabinet would cost:
Food , $ 678.25 ,
Rent . 391.47
Fuel and ]righting 417.36
Clothing . 565.59
And Not
$ 345.75

Home furnishings and services 542,59 345.75
Miscellaneous . 394.89 345,75
Overall cost of living index 517.22 345.'75
From the above Frigidaire's "Proof of Value" is readily
perceived -noticeably so considering that the price of $345.75
includes new excise tax and increased sales tax.

Legion Sponsoring
Two Ladies' Teams
Clinton Branch Canadian Leg-
ion, again is sponsoring a ladies'
softball team this year, and al-
ready considerable interest has
been shown, both by the girls in
the numbers that have been turn-
ing out to practices, end by spec-
tators.
New Uniforms
New uniforms -blue with white
-have been ordered for the Int-
ermediate team. Practices have
been held at the. Public School
when between 25 and 30 have
been turning out, trying for the
team. With this number inter-
ested, it has been decided to enter
a Junior team as well as an
Intermediate.
Groupings
Groupings include: Interened-
iete-Goderioh, Blyth, Brussels,
Kincardine, Glamis and Clinton;
Junior -Brussels, Lucknow, God-
erich and Clinton,
Pat Humphries, Murray Madsen
and Sam Castle have been shar-
ing the coaching duties, while
Doug Thorndike is managing the
team.
If the number of spectators
who have been at the practices
is any indication, the girls should
have a good following throughout
the season: If anyone knows of
any girl who is interested in this
sport, he or she is asked to have
that girl come to the practices or
contact Mrs. S. E. Castle,
Schedule for the Intermediate
grout) was drawn up at a meet-
ing in Clinton Tuesday evening.

June 1 and the first home game
takes place June 7 with Goderich
playing here. Full schedule will
be published next week.
