London, were at their cottage in
the village over the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Bryant, Lint -
don, arrived on Saturday to
spend a few days at their cottage.
Miss Janet Manson returned to
the village on Saturday after
having spent the winter in God-
erieh.
Malcom Toms was able to leave
Clinton Community Hospital on
Thursday and is recuperating at
home.
Mr. and Mrs. James P. Ferg-
uson, Landon, visited the form-
er's mother, Mrs. J. Ferguson on
Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Atkinson, St.
Clair Shores, Mich., were at their
home in the village over the
weekend. -
Mr. and Mrs. W. Cohen and
children-, Galt, visited with Mr.
and' Mrs. Glen Spencer over the
weekend.
Miss Agnes Savage and her
nephew, Bob Keenan; Detroit, are
at her home on Main Street this
week.
Mrs. W. L. Metcalf returned
home on Friday evening alter
having spent a few days in De-
troit.
Robert MacLeod, Goderioh,
spent a couple of days the be-
ginning of the week with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Mac-
Leod.
and fancily, Pleasant Ridge, M1e11.,
were at their cottage over the
weekend. -
Mrs. E. Geddes returned to
Seaforth on Saturday after hav-
ing spent the week with her sis-
ter, Mrs. James Ferguson.
Mr. and Mrs. Beverley McC1in-
chey and babe, Allandele, spent
the weekend with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Westlake.
Mr. and Mrs, D. Bieback, Clin-
ton, Mr. and Mrs. F. Anderson
and baby, Mitchell, spent the
weekend. with Mr. end Mrs. Ed
Sturgeon.

Westlake who spent a
weeks' vacation with the latter's
mother, Mrs. Malcom Toms, re-
turned to Mount Forest on Sat-
urday.
Miss Margaret MacLeod who
underwent a thyroid operation in
Clinton Public Hospital on Fri-
day is making good progress to-
wards recovery, we are pleased
to report.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. R:athwell
end 3Viles. John Keen were in
5trar/ford on Monday attending
the funeral of the late Frederick
C. Shore who was killed in a car
accident on Friday.
Mrs. Clayton Guest, Guelph, is
visiting her sister, Mrs. Malcom
Toms. Mr. Guest was also here
over . the weekend, 'and Mr. and
Mrs. William Johnston and Bar-
bara, Windsor, were also her
guests on Sunday.
Adding to Garage
Walter Westlake has commenc-
ed building onto his garage, the
front part of which has to be
removed as required by the De-
partment of Highways.
Joins Lake Boat
Malcom MacLeod is sailing a-
board the "Ft. Willdoc" of the
Patterson Steamship Lanes which
left Goderieh Harb n= on April
10. His wife who spent two weeks
with Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Mac-
Leod, returned to Pont Dover last
week.
Daylight Saving Time
Bayfield adopts Daylight Sav-
ing Time at midnight on Satur-
day. So don't forget to turn your
clocks ahead an hour before you
go to bed on Saturday night or

EBENEZER
Ebenezer WA Meets
The WA of Ebenezer United.
Church met on Wednesday, April
18, at the home of Mrs. Harold
Howard. The president, Mrs. F.
Jones, was in charge of the meet-
ing. The meeting was opened by
singing the theme song, and re-
peating the Women's Greed. The
Scripture and prayer were, giyen
by Mrs. Charles Houghton, The
roll call was answered by 15
members.
Following the business session,
the chapter of the study "book
was token by Mrs. Newton. Mrs.
Carman Tebbutt gave a reading on
"Korea," and. Mrs., C. Houghton
read a poem. The meeting was
closed with the Mszpuk benedic-
tion. The remainder of the after-
noon was spent in quilting. • The:
hostess served a bountiful lunch,

Young People Meet
The B -I, Youny People's Union
'held its regular meeting in Lon-
desboro United Church on Sun-
day evening and had as guests
the members of the executive of
the Presbytery who supplied The
program. The meeting opened
by singing hymn 399 after which
the call to worship was given by
Donald Yungblut, Patsy Anderson
and Benson Sutter. Following
this Benson Sutter read the Scrip-
ture and Donald Yungplut led in
prayer, The offering was then
taken up after which Patsy And-
erson led in prayer. Patsy And-
erson then gave a reading entitled
"Always." The theme "Strength
for the day" was given by Har-
vey Sperling. Hymn 441 was
sung and then this part of the
meeting was brought to a close
with prayer offered by Rev. S.
H. Brenton. A Short recreation
period was conducted by Lucille
Boyce and Benson Sutter con-
ducted a sing song. An enjoyable
eventing;was brought to a close
with the serving of lunch.
Mission Band Meets
The Mary Grierson Mission
Band held its April meeting on
Sunday morning, April 15, in the
basement of the church with June
Manning in the chair end Marg-
uerite Lyon at the piano. The
meeting opened with a call to
worship, the singing of a hymn,
the National Anthem, and the
Lord's Prayer, repeated in unison,
The Scripture lesson was read
by Donald Young. Minutes of
the last meeting were read by
the secretary, Evelyn Young. The
roll call was answered with 35
present. Birthday pennies were
home on Friday, she having spent
a week or ten days in Clinton
Public Hospital where she had a
Minor 'operation.
WI To Meet
The regular monthly meeting
of L•ondesbore- Woanlen's Institute
will be °held ere,the Community
Hall on May 3 with the Meeting
commencing alt 2 pan. sharp. The
roll call is to be answered by
bringing something antique and
giving it's history. 'There is to
be an exchange of bulbs and
perennials.
At 2.30 p,m., J. Grant Welsher,
our Field Publicity specialist, will
be showing slides and: giving a

The April meeting of the WMS
was held on Thursday, April 12,
with Mrs. Tamblyn in the chair,
who opened the meetingby withthethe
call, to worship, and

and hymn, "Tell me the old old
story", 'and the Lord's prayer in
unison. Mrs. Bert Alien read a
story on Christian Stewardship.
Delegates to the Presbyterial
are Mrs. Townsend and Mrs.
Brenton. Good used clothing,
bedding, towels, children's cloth-
ing, etc, will be gratefully re-
ceived for the bale to Korea.
Articles may be left with Mrs.
Govier. Bale to be sent not later
than June 15. Mrs. Tamblyn read
a Korean story, "Little Funny
Face." "
Visiting committee until next
meeting: Mrs. Bert Allen and Mrs.
Brenton. A poem, "Making men
over," was read. Owing, to sick-
ness there were only ten present.
Meeting closed with prayer.

the opening exercises and Mrs.
E. Heard presided. Mrs. George
King read. the Scripture. Mrs.
Willard Sturgeon, Dorms secre-
tary, reported the, articles needed
to complete the bele for St. Paul's
School, Cardston, Alta. Mrs. R.
J. Larson was appointed to at-
tend the Diocesan. WA meetings
in London next week. It was
decided to sponsor o"•Libtle Help-
ers branch for which Mrs. R. H.
F. Gairdner was named secretary.
Following the benediction tea was
served by Mi's. Emerson Heard,
the hostess for this meeting.
