Ladies' Guild Meets
The Ladies' Guild of St.'IVIark's
Anglican Church was held in the.
church with Mrs. John Der in
charge. The meeting opened by
singing "0 God Our Help in,
Ages Past," followed by prayer
by Mrs. Deer. The scripture was
read by Mrs. S. peer, followed,
by a reading by Mrs, A. Nesbit,
A duett was rendered by Mrs. A.
IKirltconnell and Mrs. Schneider.
The topic was given by Mrs.
Fordyce Clark, who spoke on
"Nellie McClung." This was fol-
lowed by a duet by Mrs. J. Deer
and Mrs. A. Nesbit, accompanied
by Mrs. Frank Nesbit. The presi-
dent, Mrs. Thomas Hkaggitt, took
charge for the business period,
A letter of thanks was read from
Mrs. J. Taylor. It was decided
to send $1.50 to St. David's Guild,
Windsor, to help build a church.
The roll call was answered by
giving of the Easter Thankoffer-
ing. Plans for a concert by the
North Huron B and B's, also to
hold a bazaar in May.
Knox United' WMS
The April meeting of the WMS
of Knox United Church was held
at the manse on Tuesday, April
3, with Mrs. Earl Wightmarn in
charge and Mrs. W. J. Craig pre-
siding at the piano. The theme
of the meeting was "Christ's
Disciples Bring Light," and 'the
call to worship was "You Are
the Light of the World." The
theme hymn, "Dwell Within our
Heart Always," was read es a
prayer. Mrs. J. Jackson read an
article on temperance. Mrs. C.
C., Washington offered , prayer.
Mrs. Clarence Cox discussed
the second -chapter of the study
book' on Japan, telling of con-
ditions there. A duett was sung
by Mrs. Fred Plaetzer and Mrs.

The bride wore a street length dress of grey brocaded taffeta, black accessories and a cor-
sage of pink sweetheart roses. She wore the groom's gift a double strand pearl necklace with
rhinestone clasp. She was attended by her youngest sister, Cora -Beth Wilson wearing a deep
rust crepe' dress, black accessories and a corsage of Talisman roses and by the groom's youngest
sister, Donna Murray, wearing- a navy sheer nylon with white yoke, black accessories end a
corsage of ted roses. The groom was attended by Robert Turner, Bayfield.

William Love, who has been a
patient at Clinton Public Hospi=

year, is improving nicely.
George Gram, Hensall's oldest
resident, who has been in poor
health, was taken to Mrs. J. Hod-
gert's nursing home, Exeter, lest
week.
John MacGregor was taken to
St. Joseph's Hospital, .London, by
ambulance, last. week. At date
of writing he was showing some
improvement.
Mrs. Milton Love was .taken by
ambulance last • week, suffering
With a heart condition. Her many
friends trust that she will soon
be restored to health,
Miss Bernice Jinks; Miss Donna
Rutledge, nurses -in -training at
Victoria Hospital, London, spent
the weekend with the former's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Manley
Jinks.
Showing Improvement
Gordon Wren, who was serious-
ly hurt in a two -car crash acci-
dent, 11h miles north of Kippen,
is showing slight improvement at
date of writing. He is a patient
at Clinton Public Hospital with
concussion.
Teacher Resigns
Mrs. Robert Cook, who has
been on the teaching staff of
Henson Public School for the
past three years, teaching grades
one and two, has tendered her
resignation, to hake effect sit the
conclusion of the school term.
Attended Snyodical
Mrs. J. E. McEwen and Mrs.
C. Forrest were in Sarnia this
week attending the 37th animal
meeting of the Women's Mission-
ary Society of the Presbyterian
Church of Canada, Hamilton and
London Synodical, held in St.
Andrew's Presbyterian Church,
Samna, Tuesday, Wedlnesday and
Thursday this week.
Hensall 'WMS Meets
At the April meeting of the
Woman's Missionary Society held
in the schoolroom of the United
Church Thursday afternoon, Ap-
ril 5, with the president, Mrs. W.
B. Cross, in charge, arrangements
were made to make a quilt to be
sent to Quebec sometime in June
for 'the Indian Reserve, and to be
quilted at the next meeting.
Discussion took place and plans
and committees formed for the
annual 'birthday party to be held
Friday, April 13, guest speaker
to be Rev. T. A. Graham, assistant
minister at the Metropolitan
Church, London. Invited guests
to be the ladies of Kippers,
Chiselhurst, Cannel end Anglican
churches, and Evening Auxiliaries.
The topic, "Court of Opinions
of Japan" dealt with the . fol-
lowing: (1) Is Japan's desire, for
peace genuine; (2) Is Japan lik-
ely to adopt Communism; '(3)
Should Japan be permitted to in-
crease the trade. with North Am-
erica: (4) Is there a great future
for the Christian Church in Jqp'

The regular meeting of Tucker -
