L. H. D. MacLeod, who sold
his boat, "The Helen MacLeod
II", last summer to John F: Mil-
ler, Grosse Pointe Park, Mich,
received word recently that this
craft of the clipper -schooner type
which was built by "Louie" find
his brother, the bite W. J. Mac-
Leod, has been purchased by the
Detroit Historical Society. It will
be restored and moored in front.

one of the last of the Huron
boats.
While it is an honour to have
a Bayfield boat as an object
historical interest in Detroit, the
writer feels' that we Canadians
"missed the boat" in not keeping
"The Helen MacLeod II" in Can—
ada for the same purpose. This
well-known craft should have
been of more interest to Canad-
ians for here her tradition lies.
