Mrs. J. Davison returned home'
from Scott Menem -Jai Hospital,
Seaforth, on Tuesday.
P.C. Lloyd .Westlake and Mrs.
Westlake, Mount Forest, spent
Sunday with the latter's imsrenits,
Mr. and Mrs. Malcom Toms.
Beverley McClinchey spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Wel-
ter Westlake. On his return to
Allendale he -was accompanied
by his wife and .babe.
Mrs. R. L. McMillan returned
home on Saturday after having
spent several days last week
with her mother, Mrs. E. Willert,
and sister in London.
Mrs. L. Burt and Harry Baker,
London, were called home on
Friday owing to to critical ill-
ness of their mother who passed
away suddenly on Monday
morning.
. Mrs. T. Mallett, London, and
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davison, De-
troit, returned to their respective
homes on Sunday . after having
spent last week here owing. to
the serious illness of their moth-
er. Mrs. Davison's friends will
iitgglad to know that she is mak-
satisfactory progress towards
recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Vic Falconer,
Goderich .Township, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Bell, Donnie and Joyce
motored to Port Huron on Sun-
day and visited relatives of the
Bell family. Gepige Bell, who
accompanied them took the train
for Chicago, en route to Mil-
waukee, 111., where he joined the
freighter "Prindoc" as third en-
gineer.
Moving to London
Sgt. J. Glass and Mrs. Glass,
who have occupied "Blink Bon-
nie" for almost two years, are
moving to London this week.
Sgt, Glass, ' who was stationed
with the RCAF at Clinton for
five years, was transferred to the
Recruiting Office at London e
month ago.
The Irish social under the
auspices of the WA of St. And-
rew's Church, was held on Fri-
day evening last. This is an an-
nual event end has been held
almost without a break for over
40 years, on St, Patrick's Day.
Miss McBride, teacher of the
Bronson Zine school, led a group
in a medley of songs and in-
strumentals, while the audience
was gathering. After a short pro-
gram, consisting of songs by Mrs.
Kingsbury, harmonica • solos by
Mrs. Bisback of Clinton, quar-
tettes and choruses by a group of
Stanley ladies and contests led by
Mrs. Rennor and Mrs. Campbell,
the main feature • of the even-
ing's entertainment a short play
entitled "A Wife for Parson
Paul," was presented by ten
ladies and one men. Those in the
oast were Mrs. H. Rohner, Mrs.
L. Cleave, Mrs. G. Westlake; Mrs..
g. H. Scatchmer, Mrs. J. Scotch-
mer, Mrs. Bert Greer, Miss Phyllis.
McBride, Miss Stewart, Miss
Elane Denby, Mrs. Gordon Scotch -
mer and Ted Dunn.
The scene is laid in P1eaeaht
Valley and has to do with the
Ladies' Aid of the United Church.
These ladies, being usiable to
agree among theanse %'es, had
divided into three groups, viz:
widows without children, widows
with children and spinsters, cal-
ling themselves by much mere
high sounding names, of course.

Junior Leaders Attend Training School
• A two-day leaders' training school was held in the Ontario Agricultural Office Board
Room, Crlinton, last week, with young women attending from Huron County. The school's
Project: "The club girl stands on guard," was in charge of Miss Jean Scott, of the Ontario
Department of Agriculture, and house economist for Huron County. A group of the leaders

Holds Fine Party
Hullett Federation of Agricul-
ture held a very successful euchre
and dance to the Community

Orchestra provided lively musk;
for dancing which was enjoyed
by young and old.

Hall, Londesboro, on. Friday'
evening, March 30, with the sante
orchestra, There will also be 'a
lunch counter.
Mese groups. still unable to
egree, met in the church hall
separately and on different days,
first having to receive the grac-
ious pernnission of the hall care-
taker, Mrs. Jones. The story deals
mainly with the unfortunate oc-
casion, when through a mistake,
two of the groups arrive simul-
taneously, each armed with per-
mission. Mrs. Jones, the most
capable and energetic caretaker,
takes over and settles the die
ficulties, also settles all the
women and in the end claims
the prize, Parson Paul.
The author of the play, Mrs.
Ewan Ross of Halmesville, being
present to witness its first pro-
duction, all the players were on
their nettle and 'did their best,
which was very good indeed.

Kippen Club Second
Four teams from Ridgetown,
Kippen, Goderich and Duart,
competed in the Oxford Gun
Club Shoot held, et Duart Wed-
nesday, March 14. Ridgetown
etaptttred the London Winery
trophy (held by Kippen Gun Club
last year, with 103 out of 125.
Kippen Club placed second with
101 out of 125; Goderich, third,
with 95 out of 125; Duart, fourth,
94 out of 125. In a radile, John
Anderson, Hensen, won a kodak.
Good Friday Shoot
The annual Good Friday shoot-
ing snatch will be held at Kippeut
Friday, March 23, at 12.30 p.m.,
sponsored by Kippen Gun Club.
It is expected clubs from Ridge -
town, Duarrt, Goderich, Crumlin,
and two Kippen teams will com-
pete. This shoot is open to all
clubs in Western Ontario. High-
lights of the shoot will be e
trophy for the best five -man team
with the highest score out. of 125;
merchandise shoot, prizes donat-
ed by the merchants of Kippen
and Hensall. prizes ranging from
$2.50 to $5.

Mrs. O. Fangrad and family, re-
cently arrived from Germany.
Hymn 215 was then sung, and the
meeting closed with the bene-
diction. Lunch was served by
the hostesses. There were about
45 present.

Don't forget to come to church
on Sunday morning at 10.30
o'clock and hear and see the
splendid Easter Cantata put on
by the Mission Circle of Londes-
boro church.
Londesboro WA Meets
The regular meeting of Lon-
desboro WA was held in the
Sunday School room of the
church on Thursday, March 15.
The meeting opened with the
call to worship and a hymn fol-
lowed by the Scripture reading
by Mrs. C. Ball and prayer in
unison. Another hymn was sung
and the minutes of last meeting
were read and adopted.
A card of appreciation was
read from Mrs. E. Josling. Mrs.
J. Nott gave the 'treasurer's re-
port. It was decided to start
another travelling apron; also to
have the play "The Family
Wash," given by Bruoefleld peo-
ple, putt on in the hall on April 4.
A committee was named to
plan a social everting which was
to be :held in the churolh on
