Clinton Colts Sink
Meet Milverton
In Group Finals
(By,RSA)
Clinton's fas-'travelling Colts
hook up with Milverton Dominion
Royals in the OHA Intermediate
group finals — a, best -of -three
series.
The locals earned the right by.
disposing of New. Hamburg in
three straight games in the semi-
finals, all by convincing decis-
ions -8-5, 10-4, and 15-6--a mar-
gin of more than two to one.
Milverton also took Centralia
RCAF in three straight in the
other bracket.
It was just a case of too much
hockey ability and hustle on the
part of the Clinton "home-
brews," The Burgers had one or
two lads on the line-up who
didn't know much about New
Hamburg and the Hamburgers
knew very little about them.
The Milverton series looms up
as a much tougher one•than that
just finished. And the Royals
have a grand new arena in whirls
to show off before the home
crowd. And somebody has to
pay for it! '
Good Crowd From Here
Mild weather and poor ice in
Clinton caused the transfer of
the final game of the New Ham-
burg series to Goderich's fine
Memorial Arena Tuesday even-
ing. And quite a crowd follow-
ed the boys, with the result that
attendance was around 800. The
bag surface seemed just to the
liking of the Colts.
Actually, the match was a
little too one-sided to be ex-
tremely interesting and the brand
of hockey cerbainly was not
superlative. A few of the lads
struck strictly to hockey but
some others seemed to have a
few scores to settle. This writer
ventures to state that there won't
be quite so much time for fool-
ing in the Milverton series,
In the hockey department, many
fans had their eyes on Bill
Counter, right winger on the first
line, and Clare Maltby, centre on
the second line. At least, these
t:vo young men tallied' the pret-
tiest goals of the game. Of
course, Harry McEwan maintain -

New Hamburg In Three Straight
As Clinton Colts Defeated New Hamburg
While Cam Maltby and "Danny" Colquhoun of Clinton were sitting out minor penalties in
Saturday night's Intermediate OHA "B" group semi-finals in Stratford Arena, "Buff" Arnold,
assisted by Rod Klassen, netted the rubber for New Hamburg, to deadlock the score at three -
all. Bill Nediger, Clinton goalie, is seen sprawled on the ice, looking over his shoulder at the
elusive disc nestled snugly in the meshes. Colts finally won the game 10-4.
ed his usual impressive record
and racked up quite a few points.
Young Jack Wilson earned his
first penalty.
Both teams were shorthanded
quite frequently, and. each had
two men off at once. Shortage
of manpower did not seem to
worry Colts very much, as one
fan remarked, under the circum-
stances they probably could have
won five players against. six in
any case.

than last year when there were
204.

the secretary of the Tournament
Committee, Sgt. James Heffelll,
Huron St., Clinton, is tomorrow,
Friday, March 2, and the draw
will be made at the weekend. A
full entry from each club in all
events is desired in order that
the tournament may be a great
success.
The Tournament is being op-
erated jointly by the RCAF and
Clinton Badminton Clubs with
the kind permission of W/C R.
F. Miller, AFC, comm
and!ing of-
ficer, and witthe authorization
