The annual meeting of the
subscribers of Goderieh Town-
ship Telephone System, held in
the Council Chamber, Clinton,
on Friday, February 2, was web
attended. Routine, business was
transacted and reports were re..
ceived.
Th!e veteran commisioner, - O.
F. Edward, was returned to office
for another three years.
A move to investigate the pos-
sibilities of a toil charge for each
telephone ;con treg-sation' through
central as a means of cutting
down on so many long 'balks over
the lines, was defeated on a chose
vote.
One of the first items of busi-.
nes for the 1951 commissioner,
was the appointment of a new
'repairman to fill tihe • vacancy
caused by the resignation of Ewan
Ross, Amos Osbaldeston, Code -
rich, was appointed to this
position.

Visitors front Rebekah Lodges
at Godeetch, Monkton, Hensall
end Exeter, Ontario, Saint John,
N.B., and Saskatoon, Sask., were
guests of Hurondc Rebekah Lodge,
Clinton, on Monday evening,
February 5. During the even-
ing the degree team of Clinton
Lodge, under ',the capable cape
taincy of Mrs. W. M. Nedigee,
conferred the degree in a very
fine manner on six candidates
from Clinton, and one from Exe-
ter. These candidates were Mrs.
Jean Kyle, Mrs. Stewert Moodie,
Mrs. Charles Wilson, Mrs. William
Inkley, Mrs. Cale Doucette and
Benson Sutter, Clinton, and Har-
vey Sperling, from Pride of
Huron Lodge, Exeter.
During the evening,, several
items of business were discussed,
including final arrangements for
the dance which is being held in
Clinton District Collegiate Audit-
orium on Friday evening,
An unique feature of the even-
ing was the presentation of a
Rebekah pal .to one of the new
members, Mrs. Inkley, by her
aunt, Mrs, H. W. Gould, This
was a gift of Mrs. Inkley's par-
ents, IVfr. and Mies. S. Elliott
Mulford, Mich., themselves mem-
bers of the order.
This occasion also narked the
21st birthday of Huronic Lodge
and a cake had been made for
theoccasion by the Noble Grand,
Mrs. W. O..Tohnston. Mrs. Mable
Nickerson, D.D.P., lit the conies
on it which were blown out by
Mrs. Johnston, Delicious refresh-
ments rounded out a very enjoy-
able evening.
