Bayfield Wins
A game of Lockey was played,
on Thursday last at Brueefield
between the Bayfield and Bruce -
field boys.. The score was 6-3
in favour of Bayfield.
Successful Dinner
A dinner was held on Wednes-
day evening last in St. Andrew's
United Church, One hundred and
twenty-eight people sat down to
the tables. The meat was pro-
vided by Schneider's Meat Com-
pany of Kitchener.
Recall Earlier 'Days
Mr, and Mrs, David Ryckman,
Pollock, N.D., who have been
visiting the latter's parents in
Hensail, called on Miss Maude
and Herbert McGregor recently.
They resided in Bayfilild for
some months about 30 years ago
TUCERKSMITH
Ladies' Club Meets
The first meeting of,the Tuck-
ersmith Ladies' Club . far the year
was held on Wednesday, January
10 at the home of Mrs, Don Crich.
Mrs. W. Roberts, the new presi-
dent, was in the chair. The meet-
ing, was opened by singing the
opening Ode and all repeating
the Lord's ,Prayer.
Several business discussi ons
took place and two contests were
enjoyed, The meeting closed with
the "Homemakers' Prayer". A de-
licious lunch was served by the
hostess and members of her
group.
The rest of the afternoon was.
spent sewing quilt blocks and
some members knitting.
The newt meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. Herman
Crich on Wednesday, February 7.
The roll call is to be answered
by "The most useful gadget in
my home."

which was played in Blyth last
Friday night. The Trowbridge

Young People Meet
Londesboro B -L Young People's
Union held their meeting in the
Burns Church an Sunday, Jan-
uary 28, under the direction of
Harry Lear, convener of the cul-
ture Committee. The meeting
opened by singing of hymn 393.
Scripture readings were given by
June Manning and Joyce Fan -
grad. Prayer was given by Mr.
Brenton, following which June
Manning and Joyce Fangrad sang
a duett. The topic, "It takes a
heap of living to make a happy
home," was given to the form
of a group discussion; After the
discussion Mrs. Brenton sang a
solo. The collection was taken up'
after which Mrs. Vincent sang a
solo. The meeting closed by sing-
ing hymn 611, after which lunch
was served.
• Londesboro WA Meets
The January meeting of Lon-
desboro WA was held in the Sun-
day Sdhool room of the church,
on Thursday, January 25, with
the president, Mrs. B. Shobbrook,
in charge. After the call to wor-
ship, a hymn was sung and Mrs.
C. Crawford read the Scripture
which was followed by prayer
and the Lord's Prayer in unison.
The minutes of last meeting were
read and adopted.
Cards of appreciation were read
from Miss Flossie Jamieson, Mrs.
M. Young and Mrs. Jennie Lyon.
Roll call was answered by paying
of fees. A visit to and a treat
was planned for the inmates of
the County Home. The treasur-
er's report was given and a do-
nation of 325 was voted `to the
"March of Dimes Fund." Program
committee: Mrs. R. Townsend and
Mrs. Frank Temblyn. Readings

Fancy Skating
Hamilton, Skating Club have
been seoured by Hensall Cham-
ber 'of Commerce -to stage an
outstanding performance of comic
and fancy skating in the Com-
munity Arena Saturday, Febru-
ary 17, at 8.30 p.m. The club is
under the direction of a profes-
sional skater Mr. Rada, formerly
of Vienna. -We ere sure every-
one will enjoy this treat as cos-
tumes and skating numbers will
be far superior to anything

in which each member contribut-
ed a sample of his or her par-
ticular platform talent. Solos,
piano -and harmonica selections,
recitations and jokes formed a
varied impromptu programme -
A social evening was held on
January 29 at the home of Sandra
Williams. Mr. Newton showed
slides of prehistoric animals and
the care taken in unearthing and
mounting the skeletons in Al
berta. Molly Cox and Reta Y
accompanied by Eileen Gliddo
sang `Harbour Lights." Eilee
also was accompanist for a gen
