A Terrific Hockey Match
To open the evening's' enter-
tainment, Bayfield Lions' "Cis-
coes," managed. by President
Charles Scotchmter, and Clinton
Lions' "Speedsters," managed by
President Hugh, Hawkins, clash-
ed in a violent exhibition of the
national winter pastime. When
the tally was added up, the count
seeined to favour Clinton by 5-4,
but it could have been the other
way. .
The "match" was featured by
the weird costumes of many of
the .players. the inability to skate
or sticichandle on the part of
some, and a real "fight" in which
all the players on both sides be-
came Involved,
Finally, Manager Hawkins of
Clinton was led from the ice by
Chief of Police Leo Kelly. It was
noticed that he returned to the
"battle" shortly a4terwards none
the worse for his incarceration.

tural Sooiety held As annual

old ladies of Brucefield, when on
Tuesday, January 30, Mrs, Baird
celebrated her 91st birthday at
the home of her only son, T. B.
Baird.
A birthday party was held and
the guest of honour, who is in
excellent health and is quite ac-
tive, was the recipient of many
lovely cards and gifts.
Mrs. Baird has one son, T. B.
Baird, Brucehield, one grandson,
Stewart Baird, Stanley Town-
ship, and two great grandsons,
Orrin and Gerald Baird.
