His talk was very enlightening to all, as .he outlined the duties ,of a padre .in the services, Be- sides mentioning the ordinary religious ' services conducted by the chaplain, he gave a compre- hensive picture of the problems of the men with which the Chap- lain, more than any other officer, sought to solve These included problems of finences, domestic relations, frustration of various kinds. Padre Harding instanced sev- eral illustrations which had come into his own experience, and these illustrations showed the complexity of the problems, the typical chaplain hod to deal with. His clear explanation. as to the official place and the independ- ency of the chaplain, and his unique relationship, even -To the higher ranks, was something that was rather surprising to ,those who had the pleasure of listen- ing to The godre was offered a vote of thanks. by the president, and Ibis was confirmed by Royce Macaulay es seconder, and en- dorsed by evidence from all present. The club members then enjoy- ed lunch and a half hour of social intercourse. Next meeting, as a project, the men are requested to bring their axes, and show their prowess as bush -whackers, on the maple blocks, ready for ,their doom. This meeting will be on January 31.
