RCAF Padre Addresses
St. Andrew's Club
Anter considerable important
business was transacted by St.
Andrew's Presbyterian Men's
Club, under the presidency of
Sem Castle, the men were treat-
ed to a very informal but instruc-
tive address by Padre Harding
of RCAF Station.
His talk was very enlightening
to all, as .he outlined the duties
,of a padre .in the services, Be-
sides mentioning the ordinary
religious ' services conducted by
the chaplain, he gave a compre-
hensive picture of the problems
of the men with which the Chap-
lain, more than any other officer,
sought to solve These included
problems of finences, domestic
relations, frustration of various
kinds.
Padre Harding instanced sev-
eral illustrations which had come
into his own experience, and
these illustrations showed the
complexity of the problems, the
typical chaplain hod to deal with.
His clear explanation. as to the
official place and the independ-
ency of the chaplain, and his
unique relationship, even -To the
higher ranks, was something that
was rather surprising to ,those
who had the pleasure of listen-
ing to
The godre was offered a vote
of thanks. by the president, and
Ibis was confirmed by Royce
Macaulay es seconder, and en-
dorsed by evidence from all
present.
The club members then enjoy-
ed lunch and a half hour of social
intercourse. Next meeting, as a
project, the men are requested to
bring their axes, and show their
prowess as bush -whackers, on the
maple blocks, ready for ,their
doom. This meeting will be on
January 31.

"B" hockey team in a scheduled
game in the group 3 WOAA Int-
ermediate hockey league, played
in Blyth Memorial Arena on Jan-
uary 17.
Both teams fought hard all the
way with very few penalties be-
ing handed to either team.
