Aiken i Heads Clinton Bible Branch The annual meeting of Clinton branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society was held in St. Pail's Parish Hall, with Rev, R. M. P. Buiteel presiding. Officers appointed for 1951 are: President, W. M. Aiken; treasurer, W. H. Robinson; secre- tary, Rev. D. J. Lane; vice-presd- dents, Rev. W. J. Woolfrey, Rev. Hugh Wilson and Rev. Mr. Bul- teel. W. M. Aiken and Rev, D. J. Dine were appointed to obtain a new collector for Clinton for 1951. A motion was passed expres-1 sing appreciation to A .T. Coop- er, who has been associated with the society's work in Clinton far more then 25 years. Records in Clinton show that this town has been contributing towards this cause for at least 76 years. 0 CLINTON WI TO MEET The regular meeting of Clin- ton Branch of the Women's In- stitute will be held in the Board Room of the Agricultural Office on Thursday afternoon, January 25, at 2.30. The topic will be "Agriculture and Canadian In- dustry" and will be taken by Mrs. C. E. Elliott and Mrs. Mil- ton Wiltse. The roll call is to be answered by "an outstanding tree in my memory." Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a long white satin gown styled with fitted bodice, nylon yoke edged with nylon lace, long point- ed sleeves, a full skirt which ended in e circular train. Her long veil was held in plece with e headdress of silver and shirred net, She carried a bouquet of two -toned pink roses and white chrysanthemums, Miss Betty Beattie, Goderich, the bride's only attendant, was frocked in a long gown of pink nylon over pink satin, with a headdress of pink carnations, and serried a nosegay of two -toned pink carnations, Mervin Sawyer, Detroit, Mich., brother of the groom, was the best man. Following the ceremony a re- ception was held at the British Exchange Hotel, Recedyio•g were the bride's mother who chose a wine crepe dress and a corsage of two -toned red rases, and the groom's mother, who was frocked in cocoa brown with a corsage. of yellow Talisman roses and yellow 'mums. The ladies presented a very dellightful programme including solos, duetts, ,choruses, eta:, all of which were much enjoyed by ",the boys and guns" of the Home. Before departing the ladies gave each member of the Home family an individual gift containing treats, etc. Presbyterian Girls Club Plans 'Bazaar Tore Girls' Club of Clinton Presbyterian Church held its January meeting in the Sunday School room of the church with: a good attendance. The meeting' opened with the singing of "Unto the Hills" following by Miss e Fisher reading the Scripture ley son. The Lord's Prayer was re- peated in uruioon, A short business period follow- ed when plans were made for the coming bazaar in February. A social hall hour was enjoyed by all, lunch being served by the hostesses, Mrs. David Wilson and Mrs. John Wilson.
