ents, Mr, and Mrs. George King,
from Thursday until Monday.
J. M. Stewart, Hamilton, spent
Saturday in the village, Mrs. R.
B. Johnston who accompanied
him; returned to London where
she will :spend "The winter.
Mrs. Lewis. MacLeod is recup-
erating at home after having un
dergone ran operation for the
removal of the second toe on her
right foot in Clinton' Public Hos-
pital last week.
Mr. and Mrs. '. A. F. Furter,

Tatter's mother, Mrs. W. J. Stin-
son.. Mrs. John, Stumpf, Sands
Point, Long Island, N. Y., who

Mrs. Sturgeon {read a letter
from Douglas • Pitts, prinicpal of
St. Paul's School, Blood Reserve,
Cardston, ,Alta., acknowledging
receipt of the girls' outfit sent
from this branch. Douglas is
well-known here, being the elder
son' of a former rector, Rev. B.
C: Pitts, and this connection
makes the work more interesting
for members of this branch.

Jack McClinchey, Varna, had
a nerrow escdpe on. Sunday ev'en'-
ing when his car skidded on ice
on the Hayfield Concession rda:d.
and overturned in the ditch near
Arthur Peck's_ gateway. He was
travelling west and was alone
and was not injured. Minor dam
age was done to the,. car.
Gift from Skye
L. H. D. MacLeod received
rratn the Isle of §kyethis week,
an interesting gift which he
treasures' very much. It is two
books on Dunvegan'Castle and
the. History of the flan Mac-
Leod, sent to him by the chief
of the Clan, Mrs. Flora MacLeod.
Mr. MacLeod also • received a let-
ter and an autographed photo-
graph of Mrs. MacLeo'a and her
two grandsons.
Married in Lenten'
A wedding of interest to many
in Bayfield took place in Lon-
don, November 25, 1950, when
Rev. John Y. MacKinnon, Ph.D.,
united in marriage Josephine
Janet Robertson, daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Tanner,
and James Victor. Reynolds, son
of Mr. and Mrs. J. Reynolds,
London. Following a honeymoon
in the United States the young
couple have taken up residence
in London. We extend congrat-
ulations and best wishes.
Spends Summers Here
At a recent family dinner, Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Morley, Birming-
ham, Mich., announced the en-
gagement of their youngest dau-
ghter, Patricia Ruth, to. George
Allen Cantrick, son of Mr. and
Mrs. George T. Cantrick, Mon-
roe, Mich. Pat is a graduate of
the University of Michigan where
she was affiliated with the Delta
Demme Sorority. Her fiance at-
tended Antioch College and also
graduated from the University of
Michigan. • Pat is well-known in
Bayfield where, since a small
child, she has spent the summers
with her aunts.
Trinity Guild Meets
The regular meeting of the
Guild of Trinity Church was held
at the home of Mrs. Gairdner on
Thursday afternoon last.l Mrs.
Byrd Sturgeon conducted the
opening exercises and presided.
Reports showed that despite the
inclemency of the weather, the
recent bazaar had been a success
and that many who had not been
able to attend had sent donations.
Plans were discussed for the Sun-
day School party between Christ-
mas and New Year's. Following
the benediction, the hostesses,
Mrs. B. Sturgeon and Mrs. E.
Heard served tea.
The annual meeting of the WA
of Trinity Church was held at
the home of Mrs. N. W .Woods
on Tuesday afternoon. The. open-
ing exercises were taken by the
rector, Bev. H. J. E. Webb. Mrs.
R. H. F. Gairdner read the Scrip-
ture and Mrs. E. Heard presided
for the secretary's report given
by Mrs. R. J. Larson; the trees -
user's report by Miss Lucy Woods
and the Dorcas secretary's report
by Mrs. Byrd . Sturgeon. All
pledges had been, met and from
the balance on hand it was voted
that six„;hymn and prayer books
be sent to the 'Columbia -Coast
Mission and. a 'donation of $10 to
the Dioeese of the' Arctic for work
amongst the Eskimo.
Fine Christmas Party
Every man, woman and child
enjoyed the Trinity Club Christ-
mas party which the members
held in the Orange Hall on Thurs-
day of lost week, when they ent-
ertained . their husbands and
families. There were 55, sat down
to a' pot -luck supper ' - While the
tables, were being cleared, the
rector, playing the • part of Santa
Claus, assisted. by the president,
Mrs. Maynard Corrie, delivered
the gifts off the Christmas tree.
Three films, from the London
Library, "Tales of Vienna
Woods", "Lana of the Incas",
and "Canadian. Tour" were shown
during the evening. The affair
was a credit 'to those Who had
organized •it so splendidly as
there was not a•dull,moment from
start to, finish.
United Church Ladies Meet
Bayfield United Church wom-
en met at the Parsonage on Thurs-
day afternoon of last week, with
a good attendance, in spite of
very -stormy weather. These
were the annual meetings of the
two societies and the election of
officers resulted in almost all be-
ing returned to office for 1951.
The finances of both organiza-
tions were shown to be in good
condition, the WMS having reach-
ed its allocation of $200, and the
WA having an income of over
$1,200 to date.

A 'feature, of the December
meeting is always the turning in
of the talent money, each mem-
ber reporting onthe method used,
to raise her money. These meth-
ods ranged all the way from
Christmas cards and wrappings,
sweet peas and fancy Work, to
eggs and cucumbers, and the re-
sulting cash, all the way from
$23 to $1, A kitchen shower of
bowls and juice glasses for the
church kitchen was also receiv-
ed; also the birthday box was
openedon this occasion, disclos-
ing a neat sum. The lunch com-
mittee composed of Mrs. Renner,
Mrs. M. Toms, Mrs. C. Toms,
Mrs. Robert Scotchmer, Mrs.
Fraser and Mrs. Dewar, served
a tasty lunch . at the close.
