law, Mrs. Donald Kingsbury on
Sunday.
W. L. Loree, Nanton, Alta., who
is attending the Royal Winter
Fair, Toronto, visited his aunts,
Misses M. • and J. Stirling and
ether ,relatives last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Les. Gray, Lon-
don, 'visited the letter's brother-
in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Maynard Corrie, on Sunday. Mrs.
H. A. Lawson accompanied them
on their return to London.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Parker

North Dakota, arrived on Wed-
nesday of last week to visit the
former's grandmother, Mrs. C. W.
Parker, and other relatives in

Home From Hospital
Mrs. J H. Parker was able to
leave Clinton Public Hospital on
Thursday last and is recuperat-
ing at horde,

Huliett Township
Farm Froum Meets
Fireside Farm 'Forum has met
the last two Monday evenings.
On Monday, Nov. 13, the meet-
ing was at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. George Hoggart when 21
adults were present. After the
radio broadcast and discussion on
"Forests—Slash or Save", an en-
joyable time was spent playing
progressive euchre. Winnners in-
cluded: ladies' most games and
lone hands, Mrs. Alex Riley; con-
solation, Miss Marie Handy; men's
most gamies, Miss Ferne Dexter;
lone hands, George Hoggart; con-
solation, W. M. Jewitt.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Anderson
opened their home for the meet-
ing on Monday, Nov. 20, when
19 were present. This being Re-
view night there was no special
discussion. A very pleasant even-
ing was spent playing progressive
euchre, the following being the
prize winners: ladies,' most
games, Mrs. George Carter; lone
hands, Mrs. George Hoggart' con-
solation, Miss Frances Cook;
men's, most games, Bert Hoggart;
lone hands, Donald Buchanan;
consolation, Bob Dalton.
The next meeting will be held
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Dalton.
Induction Nov. 29
In .Trinity Church on Wednes-
day evening, November 29, at
eight o'clock, Ven. Archdeacon
Foreman, London, will formally
induct Rev, Herbert J. E. Webb
as Rector of the parish of St.
James, Middleton, St. John's,
Varna, end Trinity Church, Bay-
field, The sermon will be preach-
ed by Rev. T. Dale Jones, Sea -
forth.

Trinity WA Meets
The WA of Trinity Church met
At the home of Mrs. N. W. Woods
on Thursday last. Mrs. Emerson
Heard presided and led in the
opening exercises. Mrs. George
King read the scripture. Mrs. R.
J. Larson reed the minutes of the
last meeting which were adopt-
ed. The treasurer's report show-
ed, that all obligations would be
met before the annual meeting
which will be held on Tuesday,
December 12. Miss Lucy 'Woods
read the third and fourth lec-
tures from the, Missionary book-
let published recently by the
Diocese of Huron. Tea was served
by the hostesses, Mrs. R. IT F.
Gairdner and Mrs. F. W. Baker.
The Benediction was pronounced
by the president.'

PORTER'S HILL
Community Club Meets
The monthly meeting of Por-
ter's Hill Community Club was
held at the home of Mrs, Bert
Harris on Wednesday last, No-
vember 15. The president, Mrs.
George Colclough, was in charge
of the meeting. Secretary and
treasurer's reports were given.
Roll call was responded to by
"Giving your mother's maiden
name." During the afternoon a
quilt was quilted. Cards of thanks
from Mrs. Maurice Frame and
Jimmie Harrison were read.
Several items of business were
discussed and it was decided to
hold a card party and dance in
the school house, S.S. No. 5, on
Friday night, November 24.
The meeting was brought to a
close by repeating the Lord's
Pffayer, The December meeting
will be held at the home of Mrs.
Donald Harris on Wednesday,
December 13, one week earlier
than usual.

Robinson, Toronto, for a few
weeks,
Mr. and Mrs, Victor Taylor
and M'rs. George T. Baird visited
in ' Toronto for a few days and
attended the Royal, Winter Fair.
Community Club Meets
The regular meeting of Stan-
ley Community Club met at the
home of 'Mrs. William Sinclair,
with the president in charge. The
meeting opened with the Lord's
Prayer, repeated in unison.
The secretary's and trehsurer's
reports were read; and the roll
called, with 16 members and four
children present. Several letters
of thanks were read' and after a
short business period the meet-
ing closed with the National An-
them.
The next meeng will be held
at the home of Mrs. John Mc-
Gregor, the roll call to be an-
swered by "something you would
like in your home."
A very enjoyable social half
hour was spent followed by a
dainty lunch served by the host-
ess and her group.
Goshen WMS Meets •
The November meeting of
Goshen WMS was held at the
home of Mrs. Elgin McKinley,
with the president, Mrs. , William
Heyter, having for the theme
"One in Christ."
After the singing of a hymn
morning and afternoon reports of
the sectional meeting of Huron
Presbyterial which was held in
Winthrop were given by Mrs. M.
Hohner and Mrs. E. McKinley.
The minutes were read and the
roll called with 19 present. The
treasurer gave her report.
Mrs. E. Hayter had charge of
the remainder of the meeting.
Readings from the Missionary
Monthly were read by Mrs.
Hohner. Mrs. Bob Peck end Mrs.
Elmer Hayter sang a duett, after
which the offering was received.
Prayers were offered by Mrs.
Hayter and Rev. Reba Hern. The
chapter in the Study Book was
taken by Mrs. Jean McKinley,
Mrs. Peck and Mrs. Hayter.
The singing of a hymn and the
Benediction closed the meeting.

where she again received some

INCREASE IN WAGES
GODERICH—An agreement has
been signed between the Goderich
plant of Holeproof Hosiery and
the Textile Workers Union of
America (C.I.O.), Local 1061. The
agreement reduces the work week
to 42,h hours and allows a 51/2
per cent general increase, pay for
eight statutory holidays and four
cents per hour bonus foraoff-shift
workers. Approximately 90 em-
ployees are affected..
