Londesboro WI Meets
The regular monthly meeting
of Londesboro Women's Institute
was held in the Community Hall
on Thursday, November 2, with
the president, Mrs. Fairservice,.
in the chair. a The meeting was
opened 'with the singing of 0
Canada and the repeating of the
Institute Ode and the Lord's
prayer.
The minutes of the last meet-
ing were read. It was decided
to put on, a concert some time
in February, when ' each' school
in
the district would be asked to
contribute one number and prizes
would be given.
A parade of aprons was model-
led by the members. Miss Doreen
Armstrong sang a solo, and Mrs.
Stanley Lyon 'gave two readings.
The roll call was answered by a
favourite recipe. Plans were made
to meet with the Clinton branch
of the Women's Institute on. No-
vember 23.'
Several good articles were col-
lected for `Save the Children"
fund and the ineeting was closed
with the singing of the National
Anthem.
A delicious lunch was served
by the hostesses,
Goderich Township
Rev. and ` Mrs. R. Anderson,
Tottenham. visited with Mr. and
1Virs• John Middleton and other
relatives last week.
Miss Lois Middleton of the
Toronto teaching staff spent the
weekend at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs, John
Middleton.
Tenders Called for
GODERICH TOWNSHIP requires the services of two
trucks for snow -ploughing, one truck to operate chiefly in
the Goderich section of the Township and the other in the
Clinton section, but both to operate at the direction of the
Road Superintendent. Each truck to supply • its own plough
and assistants:
All tenders to be in the Clerk's hands by November 14,
and the lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
At the same time, another tender is called' for the
supplying of a bulldozer and snow plough, when needed.
These tenders also to be in the Clerk's hands by
November 14.

Newlyweds honoured
An enjoyable evening . was
spent on Monday, November 6,
when the YPU met in the Sun-
day 'School rooms to enjoy a
social evening under the leader-
ship of the social convenors, Ken-
neth Trewartha and Donald Jer-
vis, the former acting as master
of ceremonies. A rousing sing-
song was led by Mr. Newton
with Eileen Gliddon accompany-
ing. .,Two... very pleasing piano
duetts were played by Eileen
Gliddon and Kathleen Holmes,
and several games, including a
spelling match, were played.
During the evening, Mr. and
Mrs, Bill Cox, who were recently

few days visiting friends in St,
Catharines,
Mr, and Mrs, Walter Baird
visited at Buffalo over the week-
end. William'Rice returned with
them. ,
Mr, and Mrs, Goldie Graham
end Jack and Mr, and Mrs. Clif-
ford Stewart visited in Fergus
on Sunday last.,
married, were honoured by the
society of which Mrs. Cox, for-
merly Molly Malay, had. been a
velued member. Ewan Ross -pre-
pared, and read an address and
the gift, a table lamp, was pre-
sented by Reta Yeo and Eileen
Gliddon. After Bill had replied,
"For they are jolly good fellows"
was sung, and Bill and Molly
were warmly urged to continue
in. the fellowship of, this group.
The business session was con-
ducted by Kathleen Holmes,
president, December 17 was set„
as the date for the carol service
in the church, with Pamela Sad-
dler`as director, assisted by Eil-
een Gliddon, music supervi`sbr for
the group. The society also ex-
pressed its desire to present a
three -act play and a committee
was chosen to select a play and
cast. The committee consists of
Kathleen Holmes, Molly Cox,
Kenneth Trewartha, Donald Jer-
vis and Lance Saddler.
While lunch was being served
Mr. Newton contributed a hum-
orous reading. The meeting was
concluded with Auld Lang Syne,

Ebenezer WA
The Ebenezer WA met at the
home of the president, Mrs. Frank
Jones for the November meet-
ing, which was opened by the
singing of a hymn followed by
the L'ord's Prayer in unison. The
roll call wsa read and there were
ten members present. The min-
utes of the previous meeting were
read and adopted. A committee
viz.: Mrs, I. Tebbutt and Mrs.
M. Jones, were appointed to make
opt a slate of officers to bring to
the December meeting.
The Scripture reading was,
given by 1Virs. Newton. The chap-
ter from the Study Book was giv-
en by Mrs. C. Tebbutt, and a
reading was given by Mrs. I. Teb-
butt. The meeting was closed by
a hymn and Mrs. Newton dis-
missed the meeting with a dos-
ing prayer. A bounteous lunch
was served by the hostess,
Mr. end Mrs.' Jack Medd and
little David were recent visitors
with friends in Cornwall.

forth, have moved into their new
home ,recently, in Constance.
Mr. and Mrs, Erect. Riley, Kit-
chener. spent the weekend with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs, C. W.

hes spent the past three weeks
in Toronto with her niece, Mrs.
G. Giles. returned home on Fri-
day.
Entertains Group
Mrs, Earl Lawson entertained
her group at her home on Thurs-
day. Proceeds for the afternoon
were $15. A delicious lunch was
served.
Winter in California
Mr. and Mrs. George Addison
left on Saturday by motor for
California, where they intend to
spend the winter.
