two teams each won the WOAA
title in its respective series, end
the beautiful trophies were pre-
sented to the captains on this
occasion. ,

in the chair, and guests included
Clinton Staniforth, who recently
bought out Thomas Churchill's
shoebusiness, anis Basil Pock-
lington, now of London. The sum
of $25 was voted toward the cost
of the Hallowe'en party in the
Town Hall.

Sports Committee, introduced the
members of the teams. R. G.
Bennett led in a singsong for
the, boys.

dent of the WOAA, congratulated

lieved in starting sports young
and was a firm believer in sports
as a character builder.

Dean Memorial Trophy to Cam
Maltby of the Juveniles, acting

themselves should realize and ap-
preciate the opportunity to play."

Johnny Wilson, captain of the
football team, who has been ser-
iously ill but is now reported to
be improving. "We lost a very
valuable player and a great ath-
lete when we lost him." he
stated.
Mr. Humphreys emphasized the
importance of good conduct on the

Colts Hard At. It
It will be good news to the
fens that Clinton Colts will op-

season `quitting" stories have
made their rounds. Practices were
held in Goderich over the week-
end' and last night.
A former OHA Junior "A"
player with Oshawa Generals
four years ago, Bill Hines! 24,
centre, has come from Kitchener
to act as playing -coach of the
Colts. He is working with Hugh
R. Hawkins in the plumbing busi-
ness. Bill should add consider-
able strength to the 'Colt roster.
For the benefit of the fair ones
about town, Bill is single but
he expects to be married shortly.
'Most of the old guard have
turned out for practice but there
still are a few late ones -or are
they going to retire permanently?
