Coates left on Friday to spend a few days in Clinton before returning to their home in Ottawa after hav- ing spent a fortnight at The Little Inn. Miss A. M. Stirling is visiting her sister, Mrs. H. McLaren, -,'in Port Elgin. Mr. and Mrs., Mc- Laren- and. Christine motored to the village for her on Friday, returning home on Saturday. Mrs. William Menerey, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Chatterton and two daughters, Carol and Beth, Yale, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. Clare Hall and two sons,. Morris and Bill, Flint, Mich., were the guests of Mrs. Bruce Menerey over the weekend. Mrs. F. W. McEwen attended the Evans-Procunier wedding in Metropolitan United Church end reception at the Highland Golf Club, London, on Saturday. Miss Doris McEwen, U.W.O,, accomp- anied her mother home and spent the weekend here. Trinity WA Meets The WA of Trinity Church Met at the home of Mrs. N, W. Woods on Thursday afternoon last. Mrs. Emerson Heard was in the chair and conducted the opening ex- ercises and litany. The Scripture was read by Miss Lucy Woods. Mrs. It. J. Larson read the min- utes of lest meeting which were approved as read. There are still a number of M.S.0:C. calen- dars available. It is the aim of the WA to have a church calen- dar in every home, and those who have not yet purchased one are asked to contact any of the officers. Mrs. R. H. F. Gairdner read a portion on China and Mrs. J. B. Higgins on India from the booklet on mission fields recent- ly published by the Diocese of Huron. Lunch was provided by Mrs. Byrd Sturgeon, Mrs. E. Londesboro WA Meets The regular meeting of Lon- desboro WA was held in.the Sun- day School room of the church on Thursday, October 19, with the president, Mrs. B. Shobbrook, in charge. The meeting opened by the singing of two hymns, Scripture reading and prayer. The minutes of last meeting were read and adopted. The treasurer's report was then given. Cards and let- ters rf appreciation were read from Mr. and Mrs. Dieser and Mr. George Moon. The society voted to cater to a turkey ban- quet for the Masons on Novem- ber 3. They are also sponsoring a concert' to be staged by the Huronia Male Chorus, Exeter, on November 24. Roll call was answered b y "What I am .thankful for." The roll call for November is to be •answered by "Ideas for Christ- mas gifts." Programme committee for November: Mrs. Brenton and Mrs. Lansing. The meeting clos- ed wth a hymn and benediction. The meeting-open- ed eetingopen-ed with a . call to worship, 'the singing of the hymn• "Jesus bids us shine," followed by the sing- ing of the National Anthem and the repeating of the Lordts Pray- er in unison. •The Scripture lesson was read. The minutes of the last meeting ,were read by the secretary, Muriel Shobbrook. Birthday pennies were given by Kenneth flunking and Mrs. B. Shob- brook. The roll call was answ- ered by the 18 members present paying their World Friends sub- scription fee. The offering was taken 'by Billy Crawford. A thank you card was also read from. Billy Crawford. The temperance report was given by Kenneth Gaunt with Marguerite Lyon giving World Peace and also favouring with a piano solo. The Study Book was given by Mrs. B.
