At the meeting of the WA held
at the home of Mrs. G. Elliott
on, Tuesday, a committee was
named to be in charge of the
bazaar which they are planning
for November 24 in the Sunday
School of the church.
Rally Day Successful
Rally Day service was' held in
United Church on Sunday with
the members of the Sunday
School occupying the centre seats
in the church. Scripture read-
ings were taken by George Ross
and Bob Broadfoot and Marion
Ross read the story. A group of
junior girls sang.
Mission Band Tea
The Mission Band tea and bake
sales was held on Saturday after-
noon, at the home of Mrs. Or-
land Johnston, and a nice sum
was realized for their work.. Tea
was poured by Mrs. R. Allan,
Miss E. Bowey, Mrs. R. Scott and
Mrs. A. Zapfe, and members 'of
the Mission Band served.

Londesboro WI Meets
The regular meeting of Lon-
desboro Women's Institute was
held in the Community Hall on
Thursday, October 5, at 2.30 pin
with the president, Mrs. Fair
service, in the chair,,, and 26
members present,
The meeting opened ` with the
singing of "O Canada" and the
Institute Ode, followed by ' the
Lord's Prayer repeated in uni-
son. It was decided that the
next meeting would take the
form of a shower for European
children.
Doreen Armstrong favoured
with two lovely solos. Commit-
tees were elected to arrange for
a euchre party on one night, and
a dance at a later; date, The
topic "Health" was given by Mrs.
John K. Clark, Mrs. C. Ball, and
the guest speaker, Miss Cunning-
ham, supervisor of nurses at the
Health Unit, Clinton. Roll call
was answered with nutritious
foods for children.
Doris Grierson played two
lovely soles on the violin. A
demonstration of sandwiches by
Mrs. McCool and Miss Phyllis
supplied everyone with a hearty
appetite for the lovely lunch
served by the hostesses, Mrs.
Miller, Mrs. L. Reid, Mrs. Fangrad
end Mrs. E. Knox.

spent the weekend with Mr. apd
Mrs. Fred Middleton.

Club Holds Meeting
The September meeting of the
London Road Club was held at
the home of Mrs. Managhan with
11 members present. The presi-
dent opened the meeting with
"The Maple Leaf Forever" and
the repeating of the creed.
A baking sale was held which
amounted to $4.20, Mrs. A. Wiltse
won the mystery box. Jean And-
erson gave a splendid report on
her trip to the West. Flowers
were sent to Mrs. R. Fitzsimons,
who is ill, and a bereavement
card to L. Moore,
The meeting closed with the
National Anthem and a delicious'
Iunch was served by the host-
ess.
The October meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs. LeBeau
on October 19. Roll call will be
current events.
