"B" hockey team have commenc-
ed conditioning practice in the
Recreation Centre at the Station,
end will start ice practices as
soon as ice is available, There
are about 35 prospects.
Although not definitely decid-
ed, it is altogether likely that
the Airmen will play their home
games in Seeforth Community
Arena, where artificial ice will
be available, The distance to Sea -
forth is much shorter than to
Goderich.
Sgt. Ed. Yaternick, Station
Headquarters, who has had sim-
ilar experience at Camp Borden,
has been appointed Manager. with
LAC Roy Goodhue, who played
with Clinton Colts last winter, as
coach.
Plan Rugby Football
For County 'Schools
Rugby football fans—and pros-
pective fans—won't be forced to
travel to London or Toronto for
their sport this autumn, as it
will be played in their ma a back-
yard.
A Huron County intercolleg-
iate loop is being formed, with
four high school teams entered
from Wingham, Goderich, Sea -
forth and Clinton. Games likely
will be played on Wednesday
and Friday afternoons, so that
non -collegians will have the op-
portunity of witnessing them. The
schedule will get under way the
middle of October.
Pat Humphreys is coach of the
CDCI twelve, with Graham Jenk-
ins as assistant coach. Practices
are being held nightly, and the
boys are catching on quickly to a
sport about which they know
very little. To gain knowledge,
prospects and coach witnessed
recent Saturday afternoon games
at University of Western Ontario,
London,
Incidentally. Mr Humphreys
tried out with the fast -stepping
Toronto Argonauts "this summer.
He formerly played with OAC
while attending college.
