Western Fair 'Barn
Canada's Most Modern
The Western Fair, London, is
the proud possessor of the most
up-to-date . livestock barn in all
Canada. Built at a total cost of
$406,893.00, it will be in full use
at this year's fair, September
11 to 16. The latest and most
modern detachable stabling
equipment has been installed at
a cost of $102,720. This means
that all the stall fittings for 500
horses, and '700 cattle can be re-
moved and the building Made
available for storage or other
uses at the conclusion of the Fair.
When Western Fair directors
approached the two governments
for financial assistance, it was
pointed out that London was the
centre of the most productive
agricultural counties of. Ontario,
and that the Western Fair was
the outstanding show window for
all agricultural products of this
area. The governments recogniz-
ed the need for adequate facil-
ities, and the new livestock build-
ing is the. result, each govern-
ment contributing one-third of
the total cost.
