A pretty double -ring ceremony
took place Saturday -afternoon,
July 29, at two o'clock, at the
residence of . Delbert . Taylor,
Brucefield, When his sister, Verna
Florence, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry , Taylor, Exeter, was
united in marriage to William
Percy John Gibbings, eldest son
of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Gibbings,
Clinton.
Rev. E. R. Stanway; minister of
Brucefield United Church, offic-
iated, and Miss Thelma Shob-
brook, Londesboro, . played "I'll
Walk Beside You" before the
ceremony, and the Wedding
March from Lohengrin.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride wore a gown of
white slipper satin with high
neckline of embroidered lace,
fingertip sleeves, fitted bodice
and full skirt, A headdress of
orange blossoms held her full-
length embroidered silk illusion
veil, and she carried a bouquet
of crimson Rosette roses. The
only jewellery worn by the bride
was a one -strand necklace of
pearls, ' a gift of the groom.
Miss Doris Gibbings, sister of
the groom, as bridesmaid, was
gowned in mauve nylon net over
taffeta, She carried ' a bouquet
of yellow roses and wore a head-
dress of mauve flowers.

For a motor trip to Hamilton,
Toronto and Oshawa, the bride
chose a navy blue gabardine suit
with navy and white accessories
and corsage of red Rosette roses,
Mr. and Mrs. Gibbings have
taken up residence in Clinton.

A quiet wedding was perform-
ed at the United Church Manse,
Holmesville, on Saturday, Aug-
ust 5, 1050, at 11 a.m., when
Rev. M. G. Newton united in
marriage Mary Pearl Way and
Henry Carl McClinchey. Th e
bride is a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Pepper, Seaforth,
and the groom is a son of Mr.
and Mrs. William McClinchey,

cessories and a corsage of pink
roses and Iily-of-the-valley. Mrs.

Following a trip to northern
parts, the couple will take up
residence on the groom's farm
at Nippon.

to Harry Donald Feagan, son of

G. MacMillan and the couple were
unattended. .
The bride was lovely gowned
in white marquisette over taf-
feta, fashioned with light fitting
pleated bodice with Peter Pan
collar, and bouffant skirt. She
wore a cap -shaped headdress
and carried a nosegay of pastel
colored hyacinth petals.

Doris Grierson Takes !Large Percentage
Highest in Ontario Of Students Pass
In the Grade 10 examinations
in Piano held recently by the
Royal Conservatory of Music of
Toronto, the winner of the high-
est marks in the Province of On-
tario, and a silver medal reward,
is Miss Doris Grierson, Lon-
desboro.
Miss Grierson is a daughter of
Rev.' Robert and Mrs. Grierson,
who spent a lifetime of service
under the Presbyterian and Unit-
ed Churches in Korea, and are
now residing in Londesboro.
Miss Griersonhas just grad-
uated from Clinton District Col-
legiate Institute with first class
honours in four subjects.
Mrs. Robert Grierson was the
former Mary Fingland, daughter
of the late John Fingland. and
sister of Frank Fingland,- K.C.,
Clinton.

gratifying to her teacher, Mrs.

Crawford, Whitby, formerly of
Blackstock. W. Murkar, Picker-
ing, played the wedding music,
end Bill Munro, ,London, was
soloist.
The bride, given in marriage
by George Simmons, Orillia, wore
a gown of white nylon sheer over
silk taffeta, a finger-tip veil
held with a period headdress,
and carried a cascade of white
gladioli.
Mrs. George Kemp, London,
was matron of honour, wearing
powder blue nylon sheer over
taffeta, and carrying yellow roses
and white chrysanthemums. The
flower girl, Miss Evelyn Mc-
Dowell, was frocked in pink
sheer, carrying yellow and pink
cornflowers.

received recently from the Can-
adian Business Schools Associa-
tion, and the Principal, Miss F.
M. Weaver is pleased to report
that a ,large percentage of the
students were Successful. The
Association examining body sets
all final papers end marks them.

are all employed.
The College opens for the fall
