Jowett who underwent surg- ery , in Clinton Public' Hospital on Friday last will .be glad to know that he Is' making good progress toward recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Burt, London, spent the weekend and holiday with the former's grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Ho- ward, Windsor, also spent 'a few days with them last week. Dr. W. J. Tilimann, Mrs. Marg- aret Mahar and Barbara, Dr. and Mrs. W. Tillmann and child and Peter Tillmann who were here for the weekend were called to London on Monday owing to the death of Mrs, Tillmann's mother. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Rohner and baby, Mr. and Mrs. William Rohner and grandson, Stewart Taylor, Stanley Township, ac- companied by Mrs. Alice Hohner, Brueefield, enjoyed a motor' trip to Hamilton and Niagara Falls on Sunday. The local fire department was called to Pioneer Park about 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday to extinguish a grass fire, This is the second grass fire in the park this year. Persons should be more careful about throwing away lighted cig- arettes stubs or matches.
