during the Northwest Rebellion
1885, South African War 1889-
1901, and the Great War 1914-18,

just south of Clinton, December
3, 1843, and the site is marked
by the above cairn situated on
the west side of King's Hgihway
4 (London Road). He' died in
Toronto in 1929 in his 86th year.

W. T. HAWKINS arrived in Clinton in 1904 from
Newark, N.J., and moved to Ingersoll in 1905. He returned
to Clinton in 1909 and purchased the plumbing and sheet
metal shop of the late TOM JOHNSON, then located above
DAVIS AND ROWLAND. •
In 1923, HAWKINS HARDWARES AND PLUMBING
was opened where the business is now carried on. W. T.
Hawkins died October' 18, 1943.
The business was taken over in 1944 by HUGH R.
HAWKINS after four years in the Canadian Active Army.
We have tried to give you the best workmanship and
service. We have appreciated your business in the past
and hope to continue in the same manner in - the future.
We hope to have a grand time at our Old. Home
Week celebrations and sincerely hope you have the
