COLTS LOSE
THEIR SECOND
TO DASHWOOD
Clinton Colts dropped their
second game of the season on
the Iocal diamond Thursday even-
inglast when the dashing Dash-
wood team, featuring pitcher
Yelle, won 6-4.
The visitors shelled Bob Craig
for four safe hits in the sev-
enth, which, combined with three
errors, gage them no Iess than
five runs, the side batting around.
It was the worst inning Colts
have been up against this season.
Otherwise it was pretty much
o£'a pitchers' duel between Yelle
and Draper. Bob Craig xuric
d for
Clinton in the seventh. Hits were
very scarce with Harry McEwan
getting two and Draper and Bill
Craig one each.

Juvenile "A" ' baseball match at
Auburn Tuesday evening, thus

Auburn rushed into a three -run
lead with a four -run splurge in
the fifth, but Lions' came back
with four counters in the first
of the sixth on two safe hits and
two walks.
Bill Nediger, Clinton-reoeiver,
was forced to retire from the
game in the first inning with a
badhould
s er. J D. Wilson went
from the
O mound to behind the
bat, and Clare Maltby hurled
with Jerry Holmes being inserted
in Nediger's place in the batting
order. Toby Taylor pitched in the
fifth. The Clinton twirlers were
very wild, walking 11.
Hamm pitched for Auburn and
allowed only four hits, but his
colleagues could get only three
off Clinton offerings: Auburn had
eight left on bases as against
Clinton's one, which tells a big

The annual decoration services
at Ball's Cemetery, Hullett Town-
ship, Sunday evening, July 2, was
well attended with visitors pres-
ent from Goderich, Clinton, Ilder-
ton, Tavistock, Port Dover, Brus-
sels. Dungannon and London.
The service was in charge of
Rev. J. Roberts, rector of St.
Mark's Anglican Church, Aub-
urn, who delivered a very im-
pressive message. The choir of
St. Mark's Church contributed an
anthem under the direction of
Mrs. Gordon R. Taylor.
The condition of the cemetery
ground was excellent, and its
present state is a tribute to the
caretaker, Harold Stanbpry, and
to the cemetery board commit-
tee composed of C. E. Asquith,
chairman, R. J. Phillips, and
George Raithby. F. O. McIlveen
is secretary of the board.
