Mr.' and Mrs. James Barnes and Miss Alma Barnes are vacationing in "Alsaja," their Lane O'Pines summer home. Their guests. have been Mr. and Mrs, Thomas Bol- ling, Buffalo, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Barnes and son Leigh, Lew- iston, New York, and Mr. and Mrs. Abe. Thomas and two dau- ghters, Chatham. Miss Mary Ann Thomas, Chatham, is haying an extended visit with her grand- parents. St. Tames Ladies Entertain The W. A. of St. James Church Middleton, were hostesses to the ladies of. Trinity W. A. Hayfield on Wednesday afternoon, June 28. This meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Stewart Middleton whose spacious rooms were beau- tifully decorated with tea roses, PAGE SEVEN peonies and seasonal flowers. The President, Mrs. Stewart Middleton was in:charge of the meeting which opened by singing the W. A. hymn followed by prayer by the president and the Members' Prayer in unison. The Scripture lesson was read by re, Mrs. William} Wise. The minutes cli were read and adopted. The president in a few well- - chosen; words welcomed the. ,'guests and eypressed regret that the W. A. of St. John's Varna e were unable to attend owing to • the death of a valued member in the person of Mrs. J. Smith, Mrs. C. Cooper gave an inter - e esting reading "When the Wind is Against Us." Mavis Steepe d' favoured with a piano solo. • The highlight of the afternoon was a most interesting detail account of the 63 Annual held, in London given by Mrs. Larson, which was, much enjoyed by all ., present. The meeting closed with e short prayer by the president. A pleasant social hour follow- ed.
