COLTS RETAIN
LEAGUE LEAD
TRIM EXETER
.Clinton Colts aemained on top
of the Huron -Perth. Baseball;Lea-
gue heap by trimming Exeter at
Exeter Monday evening 12-8, after
taking Goderich here Thursday
evening last 8-7.
Colts got away to a three -run
lead in the first frame, bt,.t the
Exeter lads 'came up with five
bits and four runs in the third
to go into the lead. Colts, how-
ever, found their 'bearings in the
fifth and banged across four
valuable counters to attain a lead
that never was challenged, ad-
ding two in the sixth and three
in the eighth.
The winners were on a merry
hitting spree as of yore, amassing
no less than 21 against the com-
bined offerings of three Exeter
twirlers - Bowman, Russell and
Shaw. Pearson and Stock shar-
ed pitching duties for Colts, the
latter coming in, to twirl in the
disastrous third.
