Baseball;Lea- gue heap by trimming Exeter at Exeter Monday evening 12-8, after taking Goderich here Thursday evening last 8-7. Colts got away to a three -run lead in the first frame, bt,.t the Exeter lads 'came up with five bits and four runs in the third to go into the lead. Colts, how- ever, found their 'bearings in the fifth and banged across four valuable counters to attain a lead that never was challenged, ad- ding two in the sixth and three in the eighth. The winners were on a merry hitting spree as of yore, amassing no less than 21 against the com- bined offerings of three Exeter twirlers - Bowman, Russell and Shaw. Pearson and Stock shar- ed pitching duties for Colts, the latter coming in, to twirl in the disastrous third. Bill Craig proved the hero of the local match as, he blasted a home' un along the left field line which rolled out onto the race track, in the last of the seventh with one out. It prev- iously had been decided to call the game at end of the seventh. The visitors put up a terrific battle and tied Colts 7-7 in the first of the seventh on three safeties. It was the second win for Auburn over Clinton this season. Lions went into an early lead with two runs on three hits in the second, but Auburn turned in a big three on three safeties in the fifth.
