R. MacKinnon, with Mrs. T. .Fremlih at the organ. After the appropriate proces- sional hymn, "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross," the rector, Rev. R. M. P, Bulteel, spoke a few words of explanation, stat- ing that the story begins in the Garden of Gethsemane where our Lord asks, "Could ye not watch with me one brief hour?",and following thro' the bitter vents of the Orucifixion story until at last "He bowed his head and gave up the ghost." Mr, Bulteel mentioned the words of one re- citative — "Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by?" and asked that the congregation accept those words as a personal message. The bass solos were ably taken by Ray Gibbon, Charles Cook, Joseph Silcock, while the tenor soloists were John Gardiner and James Corran, the latter under heavy strain due to a severe cold. The choir, as a whole, gave a splendid performance—the high- light being the unaccompanied singing of that universal favor- ite, "God so Loved the World." The congregation joined in sing- ing several hymns interspersed throughout. Miss Barbara Middleton, Mrs. J. E. Hovey and Mrs. Maynard Corrie, Bayfield, and Mrs. Hig- gins, Seaforth, augmented the choir; their help was greatly appreciated. 0 WESLEY -WILLIES GIRLS' CLUB The Girls' Club of Wesley - Willis United Church will hold its regular meeting in the Church Parlour on Tuesday, April 11, at 8 p.m. • Mra\G Grigg will have r•herge of the programs with Miss L.
