, MRS. J. W. VAN EGMOND
e Funeral 'services were largely
' attended at the Ball and Mutch
Funeral Home, High St., Clinton,
on Wednsday afternoon, April 5,
for Mildred Ione Guymer, belov-
ed wife of J. Willis Van Egmond.
Rev. W. J. Woolfrey officiated
assisted by Rev. G. G. Burton.
Moorefield, a former pastor, and
Rev. Harold J. Snell, Exeter, a
cousin. Interment followed in
Clinton Cemetery.
Pallbearers were J. E. Dale,
John Van Egmond, Earl Zurbrigg,
Listowel; Jack. Grosse, London;
Charles Brown and Wilfred Glaz-
ier. Flower bearers were Charles E.
Elliott, Charles Stewart, Ephraim
Snell, Robert Weekes, Robert
Irwin, Keith Tyndall, Ross and
Howard Trewratha, Charles John-
son, R. Gordon Bennett, Fred 0.
Wilson, and William Speake,
Mrs. Van Egmond was born in
London and resided there until

hermarriage and since then had
resided just north of Clinton. on
No. 4 Highway. She was a mem-
ber of Ontario St. United Church
and took an active port in the
women's organizations of th e
church. For many years she was
a teacher in the Sunday—School
and her activities will be much
missed.
In her 49th year, Mrs. Van
Egmend's death occurred at her
late residence on Monday, April
3, following a lengthy illness.
Surviving are her husband, J.
Willis Van Egmond, whom she
married on October 8, 1927; two
sons, Jack and Fred, both at
home; two brothers, Gordon and
Arthur, both of London; and one
sister, Thede, Mrs, Walter Sorbin,
Washington, D.C. Mrs. Albert
Glazier, Hullett Township, is an
aunt,
MRS. FRED SMALLACOMBE
Mrs. Fred Smallacencbe, Hen -
gall, died at her here there early
Tuesday, April 4, in her 76th
year,
She was the former Isabella
Ellis, daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Ellis, Born in
Goderich, she moved with her
parents to Hensall at the age of
12. Mrs. Smailacont-b-e was a
member of HensaTl Milted Church..r
She and her husband celebrated
their golden wedding on Dec.
26, 1949.
Ste ivors include her husband;
one son, Fred, Guelph; Kw) 'dau-
ghters, Mrs. Edward (Freida)
Mornington, and Mrs. Cornelius
(Jean) Faber, both of Hensall.
One sister, Miss -Mattie Ellis,
Hensall, also survives.
Funeral service will be held
Thursday, April 6; at 2 pail. from
her late residence with inter-
ment in Hensall Union Cemetery.
