Sunday night, at 8.15, meet the
combined Young People's Unions
of Iolmesville and Ebenezer'
Churches, for a Fireside. hour in
Holmesville • Sunday School
rooms. The Presbytery will be
in charge. '
YPTJ• Concludes
The activities of the YPU were
drawn to a fitting conclusion on
Monday • night ,when the young
people, about 30 in number, gath-
ered for a sumptuous pot -luck
supper which they served them-
selves in the Sunday School
rooms. The committee in charge
of the evening was composed of
Mrs. K. Trewartha, Florence
Stirling, Ole Pedersen and Lance
Saddler. The highlight of the
evening was the presentation to
Rev. Campbell Tavener of a pair
of books, end to Mrs. Tavener of
a beautiful cup and saucer, as
small tokens of the regard felt
for these two "young in heart"
by the rest of the organization.
Ewan Ross, president, voiced the
appreciation of the group to Mr.
and Mrs. Tavener who leave this
village in June, ,and Reta Yeo
and Eileen Pocock presented the
gifts. After.the guests of honour
had thanked the young people,
"For they are jolly good fellows"
was sung.
During business period conduct-
ed by the president, it was de-
cided that a committee composed
of Dewar Norman, Lance Saddler
and Alex Glen arrange for as
many summer outings or parties
as they see.fit during the months
when there are no regular meet-
ings. The next date for the three -
act play was announced for Tues-
day, April 4, at Benmiller. A
hearty vote of thanks was given
to the retiring president, Ewan
Ross, who stated that his duties
had been a pleasure in this com-
munity because of the whole-
hearted co-operation.
Lance Saddler then conducted a
programme during which Eileen
Gliddon and Kathleen Holmes
played a piano duet, Pamela Sad-
dler sang two beautiful solos,
and Esther Ross gave a. reading.
Several games were also played
before the meeting concluded
with "Auld Lang Syne."

JOHN 3 : 16
FOR GOD, the Lord of earth and heaven
SO LOVED, and longed to See forgiven
THE WORLD, in sin and pleasure mad
THAT HE GAVE, the greatest gift He had
HIS ONLY SON, to take our place
THAT WHOSOEVER, oh! what grace
BELIEVETH, placing simple trust
IN HIM, the righteous and the just
SHOULD NOT PERISH, lost in sin
BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE in Him,
LORD, help my unbelief! Give me the peace of faith
To rest with child -like trust on what thy gospel smith
That whosoever, will believe
Shall everlasting life receive,
