Presbytery Y.P.U. at Varna on
Monday evening were Miss Isobel
Chowen, Miss Margaret Holland,
John Wilson, Joe Gibson, Elwin
Merrill and Benson Sutter,
John E. Cuninghame, who re-
cently returned from an extended
trip, epmbtnning business and
pleasure, to Toronto, New York
and Washington, visited his par•

ents, Mr. and Mrs.G.W. Cunning-
ham, over the weekend.
Mrs. John A. Sutter was called
to Toronto on Monday on account
of the very critical illness of her
sister, Mrs.' W. E. Floody
Mr. and Mrs.•W. Havilland,
Kirkland Lake, E. S. Livermore,
K.C., Mrs. Livermore and Wilfred,
London, were recent visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. James Livermore.
Miss •Margaret Woolfrey has
completed her course at the
General Hospital School of Nurses,
Toronto, and is at present at the
home of her parents, Rev. and
Mrs. W. J. Woolfrey.

of Mr. and Mrs. James Livermore,
King St., was guest speaker ah
the Laymen's service at St. Paul's
United Church, Aylmer, on, Sun-
day morning last.

evening, March 21, .when about
20 tables enjoyed card games.
Euchre and "500 were played,
the winners being: Euchre, Mrs.
G. Grigg, Mrs. Fred Pepper, Niel
Crich and Wallace eMacDonald;
"500', Mrs. E. L. Mittell, Mrs.
E.
Cornish, E. L. Mittell and
Gibson.
A bountiful lunch was served
by the ladies following which
Mrs., E. Radford favoured with
delightful piano solos.

chair. Thea hymn, "Jesus Shall
Resign," was used to open the
meeting followed by psalm '766
read responsively, and prayer of-
fered by the president.
The roll call, using "Hope," was
responsded to by 29 ladies. The
worship service, the theme of
which was "What can I give to
my Chureh,2 was conducted by
Mrs. A. J. McMurray, assisted by
Miss Eleanor Plumsteel, Mrs. P.
Townsend, Mrs. E. Radford and
Miss H. Courtice, and using the
hymns, "Hark the Voice of Jesus,"
and "Take my Life and let it be."
The minutes of the previous
meeting were read and received
as read. The. treasurer, Mrs.
Wheatley, reported $24.70 taken
in in February and five new
members at this meeting. The
visiting committee reported ' 24
calls made in February and the
Community Friendship secretary
31 home calls and two hospital
calls, and 18 calls made by the
president.
Mrs. Fear, the Mission Band
secretary, announced their Thank-'
offering meeting on April 6 to
which the WMS ladies were in-
vited. Mrs. Hoggart, the Baby
Band convener, reported t w o
new members.
It was decided (1) to pack ' the
bale on Tuesday, March
at
Mrs. Fear's home, contributions
may be left at either Mrs, Fear's
or Mrs. M. Wiltse's; (2) to have
an executive meeting to plan for
the Presbyterial dinner; (3) to
have Mrs R. Plumsteel, Miss E.
Plumsteel end Mass E. Wiltse in
charge of Mrs. Shipley's group.

Discusses Funds
The Girls' Club . of Wesley -
Willis United Church held its
regular meeting on Tuesday
evening, March 14,. with an at-
tendance of 22. The president,
Mrs. J. Innes, was in charge with
Mrs. 114. J. Agnew at the piano.
The meeting opened with the
singing of a hymn followed by
prayer by president. The secre-
tary's and treasurer's reports were
read atfd adopted. A letter of
thanks for a donation received
was read from the Canadian Save
the Children Fund, also, acknow-
ledgements of flowers received.
Ways and means of augment-
ing the treasury were discussed
but nothing definite was decided.
Mrs. B. Stanley had charge of
the programme. The Scripture
lesson from the 23rd psalm was
read by Miss Elva Proctor, fol-
lowed by prayer by Mrs. Stanley.
A devotional talk on the Scrip-
ture lessor. was given by Mrs.
Shearing. Miss Viola Fraser fav-
oured with a solo, "I'll Take you
Home Again, Kathleen" Mrs. 11.
C. Wilson gave a most interest-
ing talk on "The Life of St. Pat-
rick." , Miss Fraser delighted her
audience with another solo,
"Danny Boy" The singing of
the hymn, "Breathe on me, Breath
of God," followed by the Mizpah
Benediction, closed the meeting.

Throughout the afternoon, pic-
tures were taken and games
played, the prizes going to Kenny
Knights, Judy Ogsten, Douglas
Fleischauer and Jimmy McDon-
ald. Pihk and blue streamers,
party favours and balloons made
the birthday table most attrac-
tive, around which the children
eagerly gathered to enjoy the
birhday supper. A happy time
was had by all.

The March meeting of the Girls'
Club of Clinton Presbyterian
Church was held in the Sunday
School room of the church with
a good attendance.
The meeting opened with the
singing of a hymn, followed by
Mrs. Bill Mutch reading the
Scripture lesson and Mrs. Elmer
Murray leading 'in prayer. The
minutes were read and adopted
and the roll call was answered
by a favourite hymn. The treas-
urer's report was given.
A very interesting talk was
given by Mrs. L. M. McKinncn
on "Other Worlds Than. Ours"
A short business meeting follow-
ed and plans were made for the
April bazaar, The meeting clos-
ed with the Mizpah Benediction
and lunch was served by Mrs.
Lane and her assisting hostesses.

Huronic Rebekah Lodge had a
very pleasant evening on Mon-
day,
onday, March 20, when the degree
team, under the captaincy of
Mrs. Martha Wilson, in a very
fine manner, conferred the de-
gree on six candidates. There
was en excellent attendance and
delicious refreshments rounded
out a very worthwhile evening.
DDGM Fred Boyce,. Brumfield,
will pay, his official visit to Clin-
