Committee Reports
Ald. D. M. Pegg, for' special
committee, reported that the
Department of • Highways would
not allow erection of a sign•such
as suggested by Ellwood Epps,
directing people to his shop.
Reeve Elliott, for Street C5m-
mittee, reported on purchase of
the grader from Hullett Township,
and recommended purchase of
calcium chloride for use as dust-
layer, possibly ten' tons.
Ald. A. Garon, for Fire and
Water Committee, recommended
that the new fire truck -be
simonized. ,
• Ald, W. Glidden, for Cemetery
Committee;. reported the necessity
of breaking open some of the
snow -blocked roads to the ceme-
tery with plow and bulldozer.
Aid. Agnew, for Property Cbm-
mitteo, commented that the cost
of fuel and furnace repairs was
high enough, and that the photo
of ex -Mayor N. W. Trewartha,
had been placed on the wall in
the Council Chamber along with
all the other ex -Mayors.
Aid. W. J. Miller reported for
Welfare Committee, and Ald.
Hartley for Finance.
Mayor Hattin presided at the
meeting and all members were
present. It was held following an
earlier meeting In committee of
the whole,

"Youth for Christ"
Hears Talk on S.A.
The Clinton area "Youth for
Christ" held its regular meeting
on Saturday evening, March 4,
in CDC' Auditorium- 'presi-
dent, Fronk Collar, was in the
chair and opened the meeting
with a sing song, after which the
co-director, Sgt. Robert Persan,
led in the opening prayer.
Mr. Persan also favoured with
two lovely violin solos, "Jesus,
hold my hand," and "Where is
my wandering boy to -night." The
Toronto Male Quartette were
present and sang "Trust in Jesus."
The message of the evening
w,as delivered by Rev. John Wit-
te', who had served in South
America under the World-wide
Evangelization 'Crusade. Another
feature of the meeting was the
slides which Rev. Mr. Witte]
showed depicting the work that
he had been doing in South
Amercia.
The meeting closed with prayer
by'Frank Collar.
The next meeting will be held
on Saturday, April 1.

monthly treat to the "boys and
girls" at Huron County Home
when films were shown. Those
in charge of the pictures were
Douglas McLean, Willard Aiken
and E. J. Jacob. This monthly
gesture of goodwill on behalf of
