Hostesses were the graduate nurses, who have worked with Mrs. Murray, during her 71a years on the local Hospital staff . The forty ladies present enjoyed an even - Gravel Tenders TENDERS are called for the Crushing and Deliver- ing of 10,000 yards of gravel to the Township roads for the year 1950. Tender price should be for (1) gravel pas- sing through a 5/8 -inch screen; and (2) for gravel passing through a 3/4 -inch screen.. Tenderers are expected to do both patching and gravelling, and 8,000 yards are to be delivered by July 15. The Township will supply the gravel. Three-quarter inch screen to be used and tender to state a flat rate per cubic yard. Contractor to furnish all requirements except gravel which will he supplied by the township. Approximately 5,000 cubic yards from each of three pits. Bond in the form of a marked cheque for $500 must accompany each tender or tender will not be considered and tenders must be marked "Tender" and mailed or delivered to the Clerk by 3 P.M., MARCH 4, 1950. World Day of Prayer The WMS World Day of Prayer is being held on Friday, Feb. 24. The local society will gather at the prescribed hour, three o'clock, in the Sunday School room of the United Church. Glau- field, Walilacetown, was killed and his wife, the former Muriel Elcoat, Seaforth, seriousyl injur- ed when they were in an auto- mobile -train collision near St. Petersburg, Fla., on Friday, Feb. 17. The Glaufield car, it is re- ported, hit the engine of the train and was demolished.
