CROWDED HOUSE
AS COLTS TRIP
NEW HAMBURG
(By Howard cowies)
Clinton Colts won their ninth
straight game in OHA Intermed-
iate "B" series, by trimming New
Hamburg 6-4 Saturday evening
in Clinton Lions Arena before
the 'largest crowd .ofthe season,
totalling 820 paid admissions.
The first period went by with
only one goal being scored, which
was ghat from centre ice. It was
a hard shot, which Carterdid
not see until too -late, slipping
off the corner of his pads into
the net. With Carter doing won-
derful work in the net, Hatters
were forced to wore for the four
goals they got. Colts t stormed
around the Hatters' ,net time af-
er time in the first period but
were shooting wide or high, not
finding their mark,
As the second period went in -
o progress, Colts , put in four
eels with Counter and McEwan
playing outstanding hockey. High-
light of the game came when
Harry McEwan took the puck
from Dick Carter and with two
Clinton men in the penalty 'box
stickhandlled his way all the way'
through to score the fourth goal
of the period' and his second.

Counter got two assists, and
played a real game of hockey in
backehecking and making plays,
setting up his teammates numer-
ous times. Hauert, in the New
Hamburg net, played a good game.
The third period was some-
what different from the first two
with New Hamburg taking the
offence and driving home three
goads in the first half of the
period. Clinton retaliated with
two scores. At this point, New
Hamburg drew but 'their goal
tender and hemmed Clinton in
their own zone. The boys can
thank Carter that they weren't
forced to play overtime, as he
stopped two hard ones right from
the face-off and blocked many
scrambles as well.
Referee Gordon Muir handed
out nine penalties, seven goine to
New Hamburg and two to Clin-
ton. Muir stated that it was 'the
best game he had seen this year.
