Voters cast 456 ballots in favor of H. L. Snyder, who defeated R, E. Pooley bya margin of 35 votes in the contest for deputy - reeve. Mr. Pooley's total vote was 421. Elected to three sea's on coup cid were Edward I indesi'rield with 702, William Webster with 544, and Vernon Heywood with 515 votes, Eliminated was J. W. Hennith 4 w 88 Hay Township V. L. Becker was accorded 699 votes to lead the polls do an election for four councillors in Hay Township. Others elected were: August Roche (559); Irvin J. Willard (452); and L. H. Raider (368). Oscar Klopp received only 366 votes and was eliminated. Usborne Township Wellington Brook, was elected Reeve of Usborne Township by a seven -vote margin over James Simpson, Voters cast 351 ballots for Mr. Brock against 344 for Simpson. The vote was regard- ed as average. The two contest- ants were councillors in 1949. The winner succeeds ex -Warden Hugh Berry. Huron Old Boys Plan Annual Meeting Jan. 9 Huron Old Boys in Toronto are holding their annual meeting on Monday, January 9, at 8.15 p.m. at West Toronto YMCA, College and Dovercourt Sts., Toronto. All members a n d former Huron residents are urged to attend the election of the 1950 committee. A feature of the evening will be the showing of the colour - sound film, "The Books Drive On," sponsored by the Huron County Library Association.
