The meeting opened with the : singing of "Away In A Manger," and re- peating • the 1VEssion Band pur- pose. The Scripture lesson was read by Franklin Yeo and Marilyn Yeo had the prayer. Ted McCul- lough read a "Peace" story. The business was conducted zy Bob Grigg. Mrs. Jack Yeo read the slate of officers for 1956. The carol "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks" was. sung. Marion Liebold had a temperance reading, and Paul Cudmore read' a •story Carool singing was enjoyed with Miss Mavis Steepe at the piano. The Study Books were reviewed by 'Mrs. J. WMS — WA The Christmas meeting of the Womans' Missionary Society and Woman's Association of Holmes- ville United Church, was held in the Sunday School rooms on Tues- day, December 13. Mrs. Eldon Yeo's group was in charge of the WMS meeting, with. Mrs. Frank McCullough presiding. The meet- ing opened with the carol "0 Come All Ye Faithful." The story of Advent and the birth of Christ and the exit from Bethlehem of Mary, Joseph and the Babe, as told in the Bible, were read by Mrs. Jack leo, Mrs. Eldon Yeo, Mrs, W. Yeo, Mrs. Stewart Farquhar, Mrs. Irvine Contributions to the Canadian Cancer campaign help control can- cer in three ways. They support research into the fundamental cause of cancer, provide the means for a lay education program and supply materials to the Cancer Society volunteers working to re- lievethe suffering of cancer patients. NEW MODEL Summerhill Club Meets At Home Of Mrs. D. McLean The December meeting of the Summerhill Ladies' Club was held at the home of Mrs, Don McLean with 13 members and two visitors present. The meeting opened with singing Christmas carols, followed by the Lord's prayer in unison. The roll call was answered by a donation to the Children's Aid Society. A thank you was receiv- ed from Mrs. Ross Lovett. Mrs. George Hamilton, Auburn, was the guest speaker. In a most in- teresting way she told her ex- periences while living at White Horse, Yukon, during the gold rush. Mrs. Wes. Hoggart gave a reading with the Christmas theme. The raffle was won by Mrs. Earl Blake, The January meeting will be held at the home of Mrs, Char- les Merrill. The program com- mittee will be Mrs. Don McLean, Mrs. Graydon Neal, Mrs. Alan Neal, Mrs. W. Penfound.
