Perhaps you would like to know
how our house -league sport at
school is rum ' First our physical
education 'teacher gets a list of
all those that want to take part.
Then he divides them up into ev-
enly matched teams. A schedule
is drawn up. Games are played
at noon and tenth period.
Play-offs between )top teams
quite often end in close scores.
MI games are supervised by a
teacher, but senior students act
as referees. Pupils who take part
in house league are given points
toward .awards. PIayers on win-

Ira Rapson Wins
$400 In .Appeal
The Ontario Court of Appeal, at.
Osgood/ Hall, Toronto, on Moo -
day decided that Ira Rapson's
creek is worth $1,000 not $600
In a judgement handed down
the court increased the exprop-
riation award. given Rapson for a,
1.1 -acre corner of his Goderich
70 -acre farm..
The land which was expropri-
ated to re-route a road and re•-•
place two faulty bridges, included
a creek which Rapson said was a
valuable water source.
The late Huron County Judge
Thomas Moore Costello, acting as.
arbitrator on October 15, 1954, •
awarded Rapson $600.
In the judgement Monday, Mr.
Justice W. F. Schroeder wrote, "It
appears from reading judgement
of the arbitrator that he consid-
ered an amount equal to the cost.
of providing the appelant's farm.
with "an adequate supply of.
water" as proper compensation for
the damages sustained' by him.
"In my opinion, an allowance of •
an amount which represents the
cost of bringing water from a bog
to a trough on the appelant's
land does not constitute full oom-
pensation to the owner for the•
loss of the creek."
"The arbitrator has not, in any
opinion, given due weight to the
possibility or probability of other -
owners tapping the same bog," His
Lordship wrote.
